I have come to the conclusion that as great as the Gransport maybe in normal driving conditions it is by far the worse performing car in snow and ice that I have ever owned. It has taken me three atempts to even get it out of my drive and thats with the Ice button depressed.Given any slight gradient it just sits there burning tyres and clutch.........USELESS

My BMW 330D is just the same. Rear wheel drive and snow means a Land Rover and tow rope!

I've never known of a high power RWD car that was any good. Made ten times worse by MSP/ASP and any other type of ECU traction/skid control. They are all designed for dry or wet conditions. I guess the designers assume this sort of car will not be used in the ice.

Our tyres are far too fat as well. Ice driving requires skinny tyres and full control or the driven wheels, so all traction control turned off. Hence why my GS is safely tucked up in the garage :)

Probably because the car is as light on it's tyres as the drivers are on their loafers!

Urby, I totally agree! I've never driven a car that performs so poorly on ice/snow. I got some funny looks the other day trying to get away from my parents house, but it really was a pain! I must admit though, I didnt turn the MSP off - will that transform the car?

Reading this makes me very happy that i too the Mini to MK the other week. It was ace fun driving home in the Mini, it would have been **** driving home in the GS!
