I've got 1600 miles on her now as of getting home from a day business trip to Edinburgh yesterday. And I'm absolutely loving her. None of the little niggles with the earlier car. She is a fantastic car to live with every day. After 400+ miles in her yesterday I did not feel tired or have any aches or pains. And the technology all works brilliantly, SatNav, Bluetooth music and phone etc.

Performance wise, this is one seriously quick saloon. We took the A roads from the M6 across to Edinburgh and back. On such roads she is effortlessly fast and very composed, as my colleague passenger and Porsche driver will testify.

And over 400+ miles she managed 29.6mpg - that was a combination of fast M6 motorway in ICE, A roads driven hard in Sport, and city centre traffic. I'm amazed. If I had been trying to be economical, I am pretty sure I could have got north of 35mpg...............bit where's the fun in that?

And she drew plenty of stares and smiles on the motorway, in the Scottish towns and villages we passed through, and in Edinburgh itself.

For those that have yet to experience this car, and as a previous owner of Granturismos, a Quattroporte V, and Gransports, I would thoroughly recommend it. It does everything a Maserati should

Great news and the right engine in the range. Like the colour. I saw a white Ghibli with red leather the other day and I certainly feel you have made the correct colour choice, for me anyway! Not seen a Ghibli in Edinburgh yet but there are an increasing number of GranTurismos up here.

It's reassuring to see a very positive review from somebody familiar with the older QP5 and Granturismo. Maybe I can start to think of the Ghibli S as a worthy eventual replacement for my QP!
