Unidiag 3200gt

I never managed to get the Unidiag working on a windows 10. Borrow an XP laptop and give this a go or an earlier version as they all worked for me. When you received the files did they give you any instructions. If not let me know a I’ll DM you what I have.
There is another more recent thread so have a search for that, as this is really old.
Good morning Tony,
Many thanks for your advice, I'll see if I can find an old XP laptop, Defence stuck with XP for ages so I expect there may still be one or two around. Dave's website gave some instructions but he hasn't managed to get it working either so if you have some that actually worked they would be gold. Incidentally what cable did you use, I'm hoping the one I have will interface with the Unidiag software. Again many thanks for your advice, I'll see if I can find the new thread you mentioned.
Cheers, Chris

PM sent with the installation instructions, I mention in my message check your cable has the FTC chip otherwise it won't work. Sadly the Unidiag yahoo group is no more but I mamanged to download the files I sent you.

See this thread below for historical truoble shooting & themostup todate, any problems post on there.

For me higher windows versions worked with unidiag since XP...So at least W7 and W10 , the higher the version the less work...I think the needed drivers are included in higher versiosn

Jeez, you 3200 endurers, just stick your d!ck on a table and tw4t it with a hammer. The pain is just the same, but you should get better clarity.

Could be worse, could buy a hairdressers car, not listen to any advice given by a specialist then wait 8 months for it to be fixed. CC gearboxes are a pain ain't they? :D

They can be but, compared to the enjoyment me and my late son got out ot the spyder, it was worth every fcking second. Ironically, it became much more unreliable after I fitted the Boomerangs, go figure.

MUC3200GT - you're the first to offer! I didn't think anyone was interested...... I'll ask Sander to find out what it would cost.

If anyone else would like a def file for the pre-2001 cars with the 4CM ECU please let me know.

Thanks,

Steve
Hi,

Sorry for revive again this thread for a detail.
I searched everywhere but I can't find the .def file for the pre-2001 cars with ODB2 connector.
I connected Unidiag KWP2000 (it connect after trying various drivers for Windows XP) but no data read.

I agree to make a donation if you give me the link to donate.

Thanks,
Alberto

I was able to get Unidiag to run on my Windows 11 laptop using a OBD2 USB KKL ECU cable and the 3 pin converter cable.
To get it working I first downloaded the lastest ftdi VCP drivers https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/
installed them first and after that connected the cable and started the Unidiag software as Administrator.
It does not list a com port, but a string which still does work to connect.

Finding the 3 pin cable took more time, on left hand cars the cable is on the passengers right side of the footwell tucked away and as read somewhere on this forum this connector is Gray instead of black like most other 3 pin connectors under the dash.

OK, I connected and read the data without "translation" because I don't have the .def file.
Anyway in a code list that I found p1225 is "trnslated" as "sensor postion of butterfly 1" but on a TEXA Diagnostic is "accelerator pedal pot 2". I think the last is more reliable.

Now I'm desperately looking about the 3 pin airbag connector. I looked everywhere on the passenger right side (left hand car).

Unidiag won't connect to the airbag system. I have spent hours trying every different input with knowledge that the OBD Airbag line is Pin #3 of the 19pin connector.
Sadly if you disconnect power to airbag system(right next to the diagnostic connector); light will go out on the dash(and you won't have any active airbags).
I do not recommend this as a solution!

Maxi-Ecu can connect to the TRW airbag ecu and clear codes like airbag disconnect. So the system can still be active.
3-Pin connector is on either LHS or RHS of the center console. Single K-Pin wire and GND. (OBD cars just pin the K-Line out to OBD connector)

Pre-OBD connector cars have each individual 3-pin connector in various locations.
All OBD cars have these joined-tied to a different pin at the OBD connector so the one port can communicate to all modules.
If you understand this. Can easily create an add-on harness to convert to a direct OBD port.

Hi had my 3200 in to dealer NZ for air bag issue. 1999 UK new so 3 pin connectors. Connector up under glove box. Could/ should be same LHD car. Note cable for air bag in Yellow sleeving with unit in center consul. Only dealers can access this unit with their software Bit costly as I am back for second round as wiring connection issue to unit or so i am told. Centre consul out to get at wiring. Best of luck.

Who's the NZ Dealer now ?
I was at Auckland Maserati when we were part of Torino Motors under Neville Crichton.

1225 is most often a pedal sensor error.

hello i'm Christian from Luxembourg ,and i'm seaching the software unidiag for the 3200gt and the way to do it .goodness knows that.
Hi. I’m Huub from the Netherlands. I have a 3200gt from end of 2001. I have still a 3 wired OBD connector and I’m looking for a way to diagnose the CEL which puts the engine in emergency mode (50 km max ). I hope anyone can give me info about which hardware and software would be needed. Thanks in advance.

Hi, launch x431 pro elite will read codes and give you live data on pre obd 3200gt.
It’s what I use.

I’m able to read out the error codes with Unidiag now.
Live date would be interesting. Where can I get x431 pro elite ?
