Drifting (so to say) just a tad off-topic... but try this: ignition on, throttle full to the floor twice, then turn the engine on. Using some strange voodoo it tends to smooth out that terrible lumpy jerkiness on cold. It was a tip from my local MD and which have seen repeated a few other times.

That's the Bay Bridge Block drives over. I once flew under that bridge as a passenger in a helicopter. Much less space under there than under the Golden Gate.
