Tyre pressures?

Checked the tyres today and they were all well down!

I must admit I have been remiss in not checking them sooner but they were all between 1.5 and 2.0 bar

I have set them at 2.3 bar as I prefer to run all my tyres to the higher end of recommended settings.

It is shod with Summer Bridgestones at this time on standard rims. The book does not list Bridgestones what does anyone else put in?

Listed as 2.0 bar in manual...only if running at high speeds (270kph) do they state a higher bar pressure!

Did the blast to Buxton today loaded and 4 up... Tyres gripping well in wet & nasty conditions but seem a lot more solid... I may drop them back to 2.1 for the return and see how that goes.

I have always driven vehicles hard and found that top figure pressures suit my style an tend to give a better wear pattern accross the tyre for me.

With tyres sooo wide on the 4200 it will be interesting to see what gives an even rate. My fronts are older and have noticable wear to sides.

I run at 10% over spec on the fronts and you can easily go to +20% all round. I find this helps with the cornering performance on the standard 3200 with 18 inch wheels, which is not great, but any higher becomes harsh and noisy - personal preference though!.

you go on the Cat and Fiddle Road 2b1?

Adam, My folks moved up here in 82 and I've been a regular over the fiddle ever since....

A few years ago (pre cameras) I had a chase in my classic Merc with an old Porsche 944S early one morning from Buxton all the way into Macclesfield... At the main lights in Mac' my front brakes actually had flames up the rims!!! One of those moments you feel alive...

Seems to be the way in Derbyshire and Cheshire I think the Cops are taking their lead from North Wales... Daft bit is it standard practice to drop the limit to 50 from 60 but this is not the speed range leading to the deaths it is inexperience and middleaged blokes who passed theirt test on a bike with 18hp and havenot ridden for 15 years buying bikes weighing half as much but with 180+ hp... Main reason I won't ride them any more!

I have ridden all my life and love bikes, Ducati's in perticular.I Worked in British Super bikes for three years.

I have lost at least 10 friends over the years but until now it did not stop me. The year before last I lost three close friends in as many months one being a mates wife! this was the last straw that broke the cammels back and with two young children both under three I had to stop.
Left a huge void until I goit the Ghibli. Love bikes with a passion but with dependent children it is a risk to great for self gratification.

Moto GP rocks though!

Its still easy to kill yourself in a car so we all need to watch out.

I tend to run 2.1/2.2 bar all round but the main issue is consistency across each axle. Also bear in mind that most pressure gauges are out. I have four gauges and the range is about 4 psi on them. Would happily take advice on who makes the most accurate gauges.

Very sorry to hear that Pibbow...agree with you on Moto GP, love watching it.

My pressures on the QP are per the book, 2.2 bar all round, agree with bigbob that the gauges are out...
have tried halfords and michelin pumps/guages, but would not recommend either to be honest.

Does anybody use a digital pressure gauge, any good?
