Evening! I have a Tuscan and after 8 years I can say it's honestly brilliant. Like any car of this type, it will treat you like you treat it. I have a life dream which I want to fulfill so if you happen to be after a perfect MK1 before it goes on sale, let me know. It will be top money but it's the best car you will find

I've had both, an early clatter cam 4.2 Cerbera and a 2001 Tuscan. The Cerbera was like a big go cart which always felt like it was about about to blow up, the Tuscan was so user friendly and could fit so much in and store the roof too . Which one would I own again? ....... The Cerbera, every drive an event.
The Tuscan was designed to be practical, and in my view for what I wanted it for, that is why it loses out to the Cerbera.

Never had a Tuscan or Cerbera but initially when I started looking at Tuscan's. Drove a couple and preferred the Speed Six but got cold feet with engine reliability stories.

Then I decided that it had to be a V8 for me as TVR's always had to be a V8 to be a true TVR for me. Then decided the Chimaera represented the best value. Also preferred to roof arrangement as full convertible or targa with removable center roof panel. Or both up for almost coupe hard top.

Started with a 400, then had another 400, then got a 500 then sold the 500 as a rather special 450 Supercharged came up that was my favourite TVR colour....Rolex Blue. The previous owner spent well over £40k on engine upgrade/rebuild and other upgrades and you can see how. Amazing thing.

I guess the question is what are you looking for in a TVR specifically?

It’s a tough call without trying both models and even then you’ll get a lot of variation.

Around 20 years ago I owned firstly a 4.2 V8 Cerbera and then a 4.5 Cerbera. The latter was about as good a Cerbera got back then, with pretty much every aspect uprated. I drove a few Tuscans also and as mentioned by Allandwf, the Tuscan with its Speed Six engine is the more comfortable and reassuring drive. The Cerbera always made sure you were alert and I often got out with the adrenaline still pumping even after a short trip to the local shop!!

Other consideration with the Tuscan is that many will have had an engine rebuild. Some like for like, others will have taken advantage of an engine upgrade.

I quite fancy a T350 currently, so have been watching the market.
