Apart from “good luck with that “ I’m genuinely looking for any helpful advice. It’s my son’s and he’s off to uni so doesn’t need it and I really don’t need it.
Of course he put it on AT and got zero interest. Should I be looking at Pistonheads.
Already braced for inevitable tyre kickers. If anyone wants a look it shouldn’t be hard to find: £2995 red. It’s in pretty good nick to be fair. I’ve had no involvement thus far.
And finally, to any young people out there - don’t have children. They steal all your money and you end up Maserless.
 
Good luck with the sale. It will depend on model, mileage etc. as to how desirable it will appear to buyers. There are a few out there and a lot of people are scared of them, a bit like our cars, pub bores and folklore about perceived issues and what ones best etc.
All I can say is I've had mine, as a daily hack, for years it has well over 160k on the clock and has only let me down once, and that was when it was in for a service. I love mine and I'll run it into the ground as it is probably only worth the price of it's alloys!
 
If you want one, coming years would be the time to get one. Prices are low and the LHDs are not on the verge of extinction yet. Price in a few years will go up probably. Sometimes I'm glancing on getting a 33 or 155 but silly money these days (and no space).

Could also consider a GT, which many consider a better drive and it's cheaper.
 
Breras seemed to be unloved cars, very pretty but they are heavy to drive especially on the front end. JTS and GM sourced V6 aren't inspiring either but the 1.75 TBi is a stonker if you can find one. More looks than go and if looked after are OK but like all the 159 derived cars they suffer with subframes. All this leads to real low prices and slow sellers
 
Tough sell, been there.

Beautiful, amazing interior but too heavy and the drive ain’t all that with very poor reliability and rotting front subframes.

The new purchaser will buy with the heart not his head.

Price anything to sell and it will go.

Such a shame as this should have been a home run for Alfa but fumbled it again.

Its predecessor the 916 is by far the better car.

Engines to have are the 1750TBI or the ultra rare 2.0JTDm

Here is mine I bought from our very much missed AndyK which had total rebuild and respray. I did it for the love, not the profit.

I really don't notice mine being nose heavy, maybe the four wheel drive helps, or I'm just used to it after all these years.
 
Sell it on one of the Facebook Alfa Romeo / 159 & Brera UK groups, your target audience is already put together for you. No building a post count to advertise like the AR forum etc.

Sold my 159TI to the first guy who came to view it, he knew all about the usual maintenance items etc was a straightforward haggle etc
