We like the Hotel Indigo, although due to the traffic it's a bit of a sod to get to by sat nav. Nice Marco Pierre White on site. Superb cocktail place over the road.
Titanic is an interesting hotel and full of character but slightly out from centre but taxis are plentiful. Rooms are huge. Just check Liverpool or Everton aren’t playing st home as availability disappears and prices rocket. Stayed at indigo a couple of times and more central. Hilton nice and convenient for Albert Dock but Is a modern hotel.
So tomorrow is the big day. Nearly all packed ready for a naughty weekend in Liverpool for the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour and Cavern Thingy
Darlington to Lime St
Hard Days Night Hotel (looks ok on interweb)
Italian meal on Evening
Tour on Saturday and Cavern Club
Lots of Bars and Bands
Not cheap but ok Need to book a month in advance
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye........
Well back from a fun packed eventful w/end in Liverpool.
The Hard Days Night Hotel was very central for what we wanted but we occupied a room overlooking the main street side and so was very noisy. A better choice would be an inboard room.
The room itself was adequate but nothing special. the hotel was fine. Decent food and bar not ridiculously expensive. I would stay there again but away from the main road.
Just around the corner was Mathews Street where the Cavern is situated and some great bars. The dock area where we took the Magical Mystery Tour was about 10 minutes walk away through shopping centres that keep the ladies occupied. The tour was good but maybe 15 minutes too long. They then gave us complimentary tickets to the Cavern which was good but we paid extra to go through to another part to watch 'The Beatles' themselves who were excellent
All in all a good weekend away and I would recommend it to those of a certain age - even though I am a Stones fan!
