Track day interest

You should consider airfield days, Motor Sport Events do them, positives are that there is always loads of run off if it all goes wrong, the noise limits are usually higher than a normal track, they are cheaper, if you go on an open day you dont get race cars turning up on trailers, its just a load of blokes turning up with their road cars which makes for a much better atmosphere. Of course you dont get the thrill of taking your car round Brands Hatch, Silverstone etc. etc.

Would be up for a track day too - same goes for me in terms of never having done one before and having absolutley no racing/rallying experience! Is there the chance of having someone sit in and tell you when you should be braking/accelerating and which line to take into the corners etc?

If it's Llandow then I can get a good great who is handy in a rally car and on track to come along and give tuition to any track virgins...line into corners etc ....plus my photographer mate will come along to take some pics of the day....Some will remember the shots he took at Goodwood a few years back.

Hi Guys,

Thought it would be worth getting a list on the go to get agreement on numbers, locations and dates so that we can then get an idea of costs.

Please just add or amend with your preferences and anyone else that might be interested, please just add yourself onto the list.

Just looked for LLandow on google maps - a cool 6 hours and 350 miles from me - might just put it out of reach. Are there any good tracks not in the **** end of nowhere?!!

Yep could be too far some....If we do fix a date and anyone wnats to come down the day before I will see if I can get a reduced rate at the St Pierre country club hotel which is just outside Chepstow and about 30 mins from the track.....We could then all meet up that evening for a meal....There is a cracking Italian in Chepstow that would more then welcome us.

Forgot about those Klive...Thanks for posting.

They only tell half a story as it looks like a lovely sunny day....It was in the afternoon the morning was like a monsoon...Great fun.

That AMG Merc was an animal down that back straight, but it was a bit heavy on tyhe old tyres or what was left of them. The chicane by the control tower was fun...once you get your confidence up you can really ride the curb and get a fast exit and a little bit of back out action......
