Great car Dave but then I'm biase as had a few. Every time you put her into a bend you'll have a big grin from ear to ear.....They are fab. Mark two a bit easy to get in that the mark 1 but then it you travel with the roof off everywhere as intended it isn't an issues.

Great car on track, horrible and crashy on our pothole ridden roads. Had an S1 back in the day and loved it but eventually got tired of sitting on a school like plastic chair and cashed it in. Get a good S1 111 with the VVTI Toyota engine in it if you can as they are stronger than the K series basic models.

And Dave I was going to suggest not taking the Masser to Le Mans. Would be much more fun in my other car. You could practice getting in and out. It is not that difficult. The trick is bum in first and swing legs in.

Toyota engine only appeared in the S2 and even then not initially. I think both S1 and S2 111s were K series

Yes, in Toyota form the 111 is 111R

I spent a good month or two researching an Elise at the start of the year and about a week before I pulled the trigger the family turned on me over the prospect of a 2 seater. Just as well or I wouldn't have a GTS now...

Need a series two for the Toyota engine Phil...All S1's were Rover I believe.

Correct but the 111s had VVT tech from the Honda influence so felt on cam. Much better driving experience and reliability (modified head)

Wouldn't you got 4S and not 2S?

I think these are great value cars and will go up in value.

TBH, I was just having a quick browse at the latest cars on pistonheads and it popped up in that lovely colour.
I know 996's have been gaining marginally.
