Crashing cars isn't fun anymore, it's a very tired joke. Assuming that a gentle nudge was fun in the first place.
'Family car' challenge was pointless other than to say that SUVs are irrelevant, too heavy and to high a c of g. Paddy McGuinness is wearing thin, no me likey. Flintoff is fearless though.

Agreed Martin.

Anyone into cars does not like to see any car being abused.

Suppose it’s a cheap way to get a laugh?

I got into a fight at my twin brothers wedding in Cheltenham over 30 years ago when his so called mates trashed his car by filling it full of leaves this time of year.
It's on his VHS wedding video :)
I just saw red so best I don't go on Top Gear.

It now just a light entertainment show hosted by 2 bell-ends and an ex-racing driver where some cars are props. That's it; it's no longer a car show.

The fact that I have actually driven the 3 cars on the rental test last night (2 as rentals) made it quite entertaining for me. Even though the water skiing was just stupid.

You need to remember it's not a car show any more. It's an entertainment show that uses cars as props.

That Audi looks a bit of weapon. But also you'd look a complete weapon driving one!

Saves on writing a script and doing actual car reviews. Not that they have done those for years

I enjoyed watching the SUV beat the estate around the track. We can now add that to all their other advantages, such as better visibility, easier entry/exit, greater ground clearance, etc.

On the thought of SUV’s, one of guns arrived at the shoot last Friday in a new Rolls Royce Cullinan. He was forced to drive it through a ford at a good depth - almost to the top of the rad. Drove through with no probs at all. So, surprisingly, it can do the useful 4x4 bit afterall, all while offering supreme internal comfort. Not a pretty car though.

I was trying to guess how many things had actually in common these two cars. Both VW group and probably same engine and chassis...

It's just transmission software nowadays not the skill of the driver. It applies the correct amount of torque to the correct corner.
You'll tell me next that you can park them in the tightest of spots due to their self park.

It’s fair to say a smaller car will fit in a smaller parking spot. So a Velar or an Evoque, for example, are easier to park than an Audi RS6 Estate. So I’m still left wondering what the advantage is of a big estate over an SUV.

On another forum this morning someone had commented (in the context of the Aston DBX): "These luxury 4x4s remind me of Regency wigs: something that rich people wear to look impressive, but actually look ridiculous. I hope they go the same way." Which made me smile. That said, if you also want to go shooting then a RR Cunninlugus must be the perfect best of both worlds car.
