never knew you were going to do that, must say well done great choice not just because of the cars your working on but because of the careers choice you have taken will lead to great opportunites to do your own thing, you could be the next great mr grimaldi, or **** lovett, well done all the best, wish i did something like that when i was younger, must live with regret i suppose

i am really looking forward to it, if i had not done the works experience at the specialist i work for then i wouldn't have been tempted to do it, i always prefer a job where i am doing something and keeping busy, i find sitting at a desk all day difficult, prefer something more constructive.

Adam, does it have to be snap-on? I know they are a good name and very poular in the automotive industry,
what about draper...definately worth having a proper look round when the time comes to buy,
I guess if it is going to be your livelyhood, then it is worth buying the best...
have found a couple of 7 drawer roller chests available below at £290 - £325, discounted from 730 & 611...
no experience with these, but look ok...

well with Snap On you get a lifetime guarantee on all products, tool chests that are that cheap can rot/rust given time, Snap On are the only tools that offer a lifetime guarantee so if something breaks, then you get a replacement for no cost providing you purposely have not broken it.

Get the 'learn to speak Italian' tapes out quick Adam...

yeah and also when stratstone open the new Ferrari showroom, i am going to go to the open day and speak to the service manager and say i am interested i becoming a technician, would it be possible to get a 2 week works experience placement?

Also one of the guys on that thread said he would rather employ someone with a Motoring qualification, i stated in the posts i made that if you complete the Ferrari apprenticeship successfully and do well, you usually get employed at a Dealer, also i have heard Graypaul need more staff, the guy where i work said when he was there, there were 5 vacancies for technicians.

oh and they are the cheapest tool boxes available that are best suited for the job. (gulp)

No they're not

http://www.teng.co.uk/tool-boxes-and-roller-cabinets_161_pl.asp

It's just a cabinet at the end of the day, don't be a brand ***** and buy somehting thats just as good but way cheaper.

I used to be a CNC Engineer and we had the Teng Kit and it was all well up to the job in hand. don't forget some none slip matting for inside the trays, keeps everything nice and tidy.

I think you may also find doing a technical degree at somewhere like Loughborough Uni or another Uni getting in the Formula Student programme whilst doing an elective in tialian would probably make you more of an ideal candidate.

http://www.formulastudent.com/

I know someone who runs a company who supplies gearboxes to Formula Student and the whole thing is very professional.

Hope this helps.

I own a full rack of Snap On gear including a top box, bought it all over time from ebay, far cheaper than new and still has the lifetime guarantee. I do own some other makes of tool, Facom, Britool, Teng, Stahlwille & Mac Tools are all good makes. Even some of the cheaper makes such as Halfrauds Pro & Draper Expert are ok & much cheaper. Some garages I know swear by Snap Ons budget Bluepoint range.
