Time to SORN

Well at least there was one last 'Hurrarr' of a summer before I SORN'd the GS again for the winter.

Think I did less miles this year than the 800 last year. Need to get a better job that does not ruin most weekends.

There's a lot of dry days now that the climate HAS changed. Although I might put mine away for November and bring it out in March. Luckily I have a personal test track which serves as an exercise yard for it to keep it in fine fettle.

Mines also been SORN’d today. Whilst not a great summer I have used the GS more than I did the year before.

SORN! Never. I couldn’t not drive it at least once a month.
I’ve just had it mot’ed, again with no advisories and plenty of compliments, and noticed I’m only doing 3-4K each year for the past 4 years. It still does the twice annual long UK hols without any issues, normally incorporating a farmers track as well as the motorways.
With 110k on the clock it’s doing very well for it’s age and mileage.

You can do it monthly now, so if a Indian Summer turns up have a months tax.

Don't like to leave mine standing for too long so won't be sorn until end of November. Should still be the odd day between now and then for a drive out in decent weather before the winter kicks in! Back on the road in March weather permitting.

I never sorn mine, I paid a fortune to have it properly unsealed so that i can use it on those crisp, sunny, dry winter days and not worry about a bit of salt. There’s no prize for abstention unless you’re in the church.

I use mine every day, Summer or Winter, rain or shine. Recently had it undersealed (thanks Matt). Should do 12K miles this year - no problems whatsoever.

Thats the way to do it and keep everything working nicely.
A regular underside inspection and treat as needed.
Keep the brakes rust free and good washing and waxing on the body happy days indeed.

After I saw the state of new components subjected to what I thought was the absolute minimum of winter weather, I must concede that I find it hard to fathom which councils have too much salt, and will needlessly throw the stuff about for wont of something better to do when it's warm...!
Cynnicism and confusion aside...it really does so much harm that I cant think a good reason to do it. That, and leaving it parked outside under a tree all winter....:(
