It’s far easier to remove the bracket with the potentiometer attached then remove the pot from the bracket.

Yes remove the two bolts holding the bracket on at the rear and then remove the pedal sensor from the bracket once you get it out of the car. Not worth trying to get to the two allen bolts that are facing away from you.

Yes, "sticky throttle", one of the troubles a TB can suffer.
From the earliest start on, I did not only exchange the potentiometer cap for a contactless one, but gave the units a complete overhaul, including the magnetic rotor clean up and reseal.
That reseal however, proved to be the part that caused some problems over the years.
Funny thing is, that some units that come in, show a perfect and undamaged aluminium factory seal, others are completely desintegrating.
These desintegrating rotors, are quite difficult to clean up in the first place and then reseal in such a way, that desintegrating does not show again.
Now a very solid and durable solution is used for some time already.

Throttle body check, remove the inlet piping, about a minuet with a screwdriver
Push the throttle butterfly with your finger, if it sticks and doesn't return to its original position
Its knackered!

Update, good advice Dave, had a look at magnets & they were braking up so replaced throttle body and all's good, drives notably better. 1st class site this, great people.

Need to inspect my TB and I have a question. How do you get the inlet pipe clips back on? I understand a special tool is required? Or should I just replace with a big jubilie clip?

How ocd are you..?
I reckon jubilees are just fine if they fit well...
Mine keeps pulling a code as the associated inlet pipe work is a poor fit once the air box was bolted back with av mounts the way it’s meant to be..
The upshot is that McGrath replaced my jubilees with oem clips and they cant be adjusted. It keeps leaking and I sense jubilees could be secured better given the stressed fit of the pipe work as I explained...
Just my opinion. They look a bit naff compared to the neat oem clips.
Function over form....?
