Not in my experience for a 1st service and I've owned both.

It's a completely different marque, ask how much the first service is on an M5 or a Ferrari 488 for that matter and then compare.

Mercedes A service (minor) for an E Class - roughly £300 to 350. B Service (major) about £500 to £550

Gearbox oil change £350
Spark plugs - V8 £350, V6 £280

Spreading the cost - the monthly service plan comes in at £55 to £65 per month.

Totally get that but a Ghibli diesel is a world away from either of those cars.

Car went in for its service the other day. Maserati have released an update for the instrument cluster that cures both the spurious engine warning light and power steering errors. Apparently it's purely a software issue. Dealers are doing the update as cars come in rather than recalling them for it.

Also, have to say, not sure what's spurred this on but I'm quite smitten with the car at the moment. Thinking I'm learning to be less critical about its flaws.

I must have been conditioned by Alfa Romeo for too long but those service costs don't look too bad. If I pay that for the S I'll be happy.

The next (4th) service in the Giulietta was going to be in excess of £720 before discount on a little 1.4 petrol.

Mine doesn't show either of those issues.

I did have the engine warning light once but it also went into limp mode. Stopped, restarted and it was fine. The dealer checked it and there were no codes in the system so we suspect bad fuel. It's never done it since.
