Thinking of a Granturismo MC Stradale

Hi everyone. I currently have a QPV GTS which was my first experience of Maserati and needless to say, I love it but am considering a Granturismo.

I prefer the styling of the Stradale version and think I want the facelift version upwards. One thing which is key to my enjoyment of these cars is the sound. Is there much difference between the Stradale and other versions with respect to sound? What should my other considerations be ? Cheers

Yes, Stradale sounds even better. Only two Stradale models...2 seater and then 4 seater. Both look the same apart from the 4 seater had the Catbon bonnet with the nose vent. Two seater had the better Catbon bucket seats. The latest facelift doesn't include a Stradale. Stradale is considered to be the best GT you can buy by most and the motoring press.

Thank you. What do you think of the one I just posted?

That's must have only just come on. Looks lovely and not a bad price for the miles. That has to be worth a look...........Only thing for me is I would go and take s look but would end up coming away in an Aston Martin.....but that's just me.

Not many for sale so if it's the colour you are after get in there. Good dealer as well. A couple on here have bought Astons off them and has had good experiences.

Looks great to me. What I would have as well. Decent price as well for year and miles.

Shame you can't have the Carson 2 seat seats in a 4 seater.. Or can you?

Was never an option on the 4 seater.....Access to the rear I think. Although there was that black 2 seater that Nuvola sold a number of years back that had rear seats added so access couldn't be that much if a problem. They aren't cheap though if you want to add to a 4 seater....think I've seen prices of 10k talked about on here.

Okay, so how much more am I going to enjoy this vs my qp GTS? I’ve done all kind of advanced man maths, preparing the speech for my wife etc etc

The seats tip forward but don’t slide unless you do it manually so rear access is a bit of a faf, but it wouldn’t be a disaster. But the cost might well be!

Personally, go 2 seater if you don’t need the rear seats. They are rarer and bonkers and the two seats adds to the theatre. As rarer too they will hold value and set to rise. Maybe not in the current downturn but if any Maserati is to do a ‘MCV’ it will be the 2 seat Strad.

Thanks for this. Got a little family so 4 seats forms part of the negotiation!

Reading your other post on brakes just wondered what the cost of ceramics on these are?

Here are images of current ceramics

Pads are about half worn.

Pads £400
Disc £2.5k
You can have the discs refurbed/resurfaced for a grand each.
Only ever heard one horror story (currently for sale) so would expect pads at 30k miles, front discs at 60-70k miles or longer and rears never.

If it’s been abused then you can half those estimates.

Remember the cost of carbon brakes are coming down all the time so in ten years time I don’t feel the costs will be an issue.

I thought they slid back automatically in the GT? Or is there a difference with the stradale version?

Zep, they do slide mate, it’s up and down that’s fixed.

I meant that to slide it forward you have to use the manual mechanism. The lever that flips the seat back forward doesn’t release the sliding mechanism, or am I going nuts?

Bought my car from AM Newcastle. Great to deal with. They sell the odd Maserati and know a fair bit about them. They are real petrolheads generally . Paul is the man to speak to in sales.

Thanks everyone. Am interested but one snag is that the first service was late by 3000 miles which isn’t insignificant and I suspect will cause warranty issues? It still has balance of manufacturers warranty but I’ve been stung before buying a car which had a misaligned service history - thoughts?
