If the 24 happens or not we still have the decision to go regardless. I for one would be up for that. The issue is the ferry companies. If they are still running then we won’t get our money back. We hardley go to the race anyway so why spoil our fun?

we can self isolate in Les Blot, 24hrs of beer drinking, what’s the problem?

All the French will be in their houses so we can irritate them more with our noise?

I'm in. By then, i'll want different scenary and i'll probably have covid immunity. No need to worry yet anyway, it's a while away. If the worst happens and the ferry company won't refund, i won't be chasing you and i wouldn't expect anyone else to either.

Ok thanks Dave. I can’t see transport being suspended for 3 months so let’s just wait and see.

You guys have the same issue we do with Indy, if the transport is cancelled there is bugger all we can do but we have already made the decision if transport links are up and hotels open then we will be going regardless of the Indy 500 being staged or not - 6 days honing around the States in a muscle car why wouldn't you - however all evidence seems to point to no flights & no ferries which will scupper that idea.

If the race is cancelled, can I suggest that based on us all still going, we organise to take all out Scalextric track and stock, I'm pretty sure between us we have the ability to put together a 4-lane track and run a 24-hour substitute race at one of the Gites... What could possibly go wrong???

I don't want to be a party pooper, but I live in France 50% of the time, and its much worse there than UK at present. Laws have been passed so every bar, hotel and restuarant is shut and the streets are deserted..........It really looks like 28 Days Later in La Chartre without the zombies ( yet!) You need a form to show the Gendarmes why you are out and about (for shopping and medical only) and they have powers to arrest you if you can't produce the Form.

I Imagine a convoy of Maserati's blasting through France on deserted roads will be great fun, but when you get reported and stopped, it will be less funny. Things may improve and a decsion on LM24 & LMC is due 15th April, but if thr situation in June is the same as now, then I think you may have some difficulties with the authorities. Good luck and good health whatever you decide to do!

Absolutely Spot On.
Having lived here in Laval 53000 since October I have never seen anything like it in my life.
One thing guaranteed is there will be no leeway for shenanigans and that's not because the French don't have a sense of humour it's because this is a serious situation chaps.

Perfect, no police speed traps, this is going to be epic.

Along with the 24hr Scaletrix at Les Blot, it will be mattresses outside on the patio and 24hr drinking and BBQ.

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
'Relax' said the night man,
'We are programmed to receive.
You can check out any time you like,
But you can never leave!'

I've got about 30 metres of Scalextric Track. And for the record, I'm the Nissan GTR Race Car. ;)

A 50% drop on my car is much less than a 50% drop on a Speciale Aperta.

Result!

Let's say that my QPV is worth £14,000 and the best QPV is worth £28,000 - I have a gap of £14,000 to fund.
A 50% drop in both is great £7,000 / £14,000 - £7,000 gap.
But it could be linear not a percentage, or worse, a race to quality that would widen the gap.

Actually the biggest challenge for this project is timing. Having two QPVs is (I'm told by Mrs MarkMas) an unacceptable outcome.
