I am currently scared of my post... my drive back from LeMans on Monday was a fantastic, spirited, drive along D roads up to Vire and then Cherbourg, and I think I was flashed by at least two cameras... however, only 1 in 3 have film in and are active, so fingers crossed!

Apparently you can be scared for a full year, although it seems that the forum's experience is faster than that. I shall be wary for some weeks yet.

PS - at least you physically made it out of France unmolested by the attentions of the local Forces of Darkness.

So who’s paying it then? What happens if you don’t? Fake plates for me next year.

Nothing through my postbox that stinks of garlic yet?

No points just a contribution to the Christmas Ball of the Gendarmerie
That I could cope with, better than our stupid points system, get caught , pay the fine, all over, better than thinking 'if I get caught again I'll lose my licence as I've already got 9 points.

A hundred Euro or so will be relatively painless - don’t fancy up to €750 euro for +50kph might spoil my weekend.

“In France the faster you are going the higher the fine. In built up areas, fines are set at €90 from just one kph over the limit up to 39kph over.
On other roads, including auto-routes, they are as follows.
When speeding 1kph over to 19kph over the fine €45 and 20kph to 39kph it’s a €90 penalty.
When 40kph to 49kph its €135 and in excess of 50kph over limit €750 and your car can be confiscated to the police compound!”
