The good morning thread

Not sure it's the right thread but bolloxcs to it; I had a rare treat yesterday, I was invited down to GMA to watch a mate spec his T50. What an absolutely stellar piece of automotive art. The engineering is exquisite, the attention to detail is obsessive and the whole ethos strives for driving perfection. Granted, at the price, it should be but other companies have tried but failed to produce.

Fwiw, he specced Tartan red with a red drivers seat, and red details in a black leather and Alcantara interior. Dark grey wheels, silver calipers and satin external carbon. He also specced the only 2 options you have to pay for; a tracker and 'touring' gearbox. The 'standard' gearbox gives 100mph at 5200rpm, the 'touring' gearbox gives 100mph at 3800rpm, so a much more relaxed drive. However, available revs are 12,100 so running out of them in top gear is likely to give one time for reflection in a prison cell.

Apparently, performance figures haven't been quoted and, it appears, they aren't that bothered about beating the F1 in 0-60 or top end. It's all about the driving experience, and that will be better than the F1. Fwiw, they are also talking about a touring mpg of over 30 which, for a car like this, is pretty remarkable.

I'll post up what it's like when we go and pick it up. We might see Harris and Metcalfe in one, but the 'influencers' are very unlikely to get to try one out. Watch this space.

A very good morning all. That is an experience very few will experience Benny. Sounds like a fun day.

Morning all. Sounded like a fox got in among the ducks about 0300 this morning. What a racket!

Anyway, WFH today. Have a good one, all

Have you watched the episode of ‘the late brake show’ on YouTube about the T33?

phenomenal bit of engineering.

The late brake show is really worth checking out - some great ‘content’ (episodes)

Morning all, hump day and it looks better than the other days this week.

I got accused of being in holiday mode yesterday by the boss as I have been focussing on getting everything set-up to carry on whilst I'm away. He probably has a point I usually do this the day or at most the week before but as I explained being off for 23 days I need to ensure they have enough to keep them busy ;)

Collected the 911 yesterday, after my bought-unseen purchase last week. 130 mile trip home completed without incident, and all seems well with the car. But today I’ll give it a clean and closer inspection to determine the next steps. At the very least it can go to the detailers for a day, and have a quick professional post-purchase-insoection and minor service from my local Porsche specialist.

Hello everyone!
Final morning up in Glasgow. Epic steak dinner last night, followed by a rooftop bar with Garry and then his RS5 taxi service.
HapPea Wednesday!

Fyi, the display engines are being ordered by some T50 owners, approx 20 so far, and they cost, without any internals or internal machining, around £185,000. A 'live' engine is rumoured to be somewhere around £500,000. An interesting stat is that the T50 engine, which revs to 12,100rpm is expected to last well over 100,000 miles before requiring a rebuild. It really is a thing of beauty.

Morning all. Had a marvellous nights sleep last night, probably because we switched the zircon on for the first time this year.

Certainly didn't want to get up this morning.

Plenty to do though!
