Good morning everyone,

Sorry to read about your roof issues Andy. Have you thought of installing photovoltaic tiles? Generate electricity and get some payback from the 20k? Not sure of the cost but I'm sure Dan! could advise

Morning all.
Another week nearly done.
Job for today taking my neighbour's daughter to school.
Not done this job for years as my kids well and truly grown up.
A little bit of Milf hunting it is then :) Stay Safe all.

Morning. Bloody ****, Andy. Well I guess on the bright side you can get it done before the worst of the winter sets in?
Couple of catch ups today, the lawn needs mowing, then probably more car based pipe dreams.

Have a great day, all

Morning all, not good Andy but are you sure it needs complete replacement? We had a couple of leaks on the roof when we moved in and the bigger firms all quoted for a full strip and reflect and cover but after asking around we got a guy who came looked properly, identified the problem areas and striped and repaired those a €20k bill came in at €3k which the insurance and the previous owner contributed to so didn't cost us much at all. The roofer also turns out to be a very good odd job man who knows lots of local trades and as such he will probably get the job of managing the new garage build.

Back WFH today but a lot to do as I am back to the UK for 3 days next week.

Morning all, at the unit today, mostly clearing the van out and dumping cr@p I don’t need in there. Also big dog is off the the vets again to have his teeth looked at. He is such a wimp the only way is a general anaesthetic!

Have fun all...

Andy, bugger about your roof. Sorry, fella. Our house is old and creaky in many ways. Its roof is a complex thing and its replacement would necessitate the use of a powerful computational machine to even cost the job, let alone pay for it. The old drum in the last month has cost a sodding fortune. The new shower-room was finished last week, and next week we have a new boiler, hot water cylinder and water softener going in. And that's the bloody lot for this year! (I hope.)

Morning, Maser-lovers. All well in our various bubbles, I hope. Today, work will involve plotting and scheming in my head ready to commit dastardly plans to Word later. This means I can also go out and play. Which is nice. Made some encouraging progress yesterday with securing funding for a new project, which should keep me out of trouble (and out of the debtors clink) for a few more months. Again, good.

Also, the sun is shining.

Morning all. Is it morning already?

Drive-in movie at Bristol airport last night - that was quite amusing.

Morning all. Office this morning. Might get out for a bike ride this afternoon.

Hopefully I won't come don't with the cold that has laid Joseph and now Alex low over the last few days.
Wishful thinking perhaps?

I had a proper rubbish cold last week - headache, aching joints, coughing and sneezing and generally feeling sub optimal. Lasted 6 days, then woke up feeling quite marvellous!

Had the COVID test and it came back negative.

Apparently there's a lot going around. Summer flu we used to call it! Now it's suspected Covid!

Past morning I know, but just preparing for next week and found the entire Eb family set of dive computers complaining that they are low on battery. Sound familiar? Just back from the local dive shop and all good now.

Good Morning all.
Let the weekend commence and I will be looking after Ms French after her first week out on the road with her job.
Might take out the interior on the 2CV for cutting the floor pan out.
Stay Safe all.

Good Luck with it mate and feel the pain as at the end of the day it's one of those jobs that won't look at lot different when finished unlike a kitchen or bathroom.
Enjoy your weekend.

Morning all, it will be worth it in the end Andy, get lots of insulation in there while you have the chance. Phil, is it not easier to take the shell off the chassis on a 2CV and flip it over?

Yep, knocked the nail on the head Phil....Although we are going to get a more modern tile and we have those horrid tiles covering half of the front of the house so getting that changed for some anthracite grey coloured fascias to bring it more it more up to date...
