Morning you lot. I think the hedge needs cutting. No chance of the council doing it at this point I fear.

Have a great day, all

Morning all, blimey Loz; Lowestoft is the sleepy fluff filled navel of the UK. It takes forever to get anywhere from there, are you sure that is where you want to end up?

Not sure what I’ll do today but it will involve seeing more than the study.

Have fun all...

Haha agreed mate , its sort of family orientated , the missus brother lives down there , and Kaz is fully retiring once we move , whilst i continue to finish and wind up affairs in Africa if i can eve get a flight out of here and avoid a double self isolation period. At least she will have company whilst im away and as most know im not adverse to clocking up a few Maserati miles attending events etc .

Morning all going to be another glorious day once the sun comes over , stay safe out there , appears there a glimmer on the horizon of things improving pinkies crossed and all that

Good morning everyone. It got too hot to work in my temporary office yesterday. I deliberately positioned myself in the conservatory at the start of the lockdown as the natural light would help me work. But yesterday got a bit much by 3pm and its only May. Just today to do, as I might be back in June.

Morning, denizens of SportsMaserati. Started sunny, cloudy now, due to brighten up again later.

We're keeping our office in London closed until the end of June and planning for a far more home-oriented way of life after that. We'll need to keep some meeting space and likely there will be a number of people who simply prefer working in an office, but our future business as unusual will involve a much lower expectation of being in a traditional office. Suits me fine. I've been nomadic / home-based for years.

I think this will be the norm for many businesses, and all the better for it.
The challenge will be as churn in teams happens, maintaining (or even forging) a new team remotely is a challenge that most are ill prepared for. **** most leaders can't create a good team when everyone's in the office.

When working in the UK broken coil springs were almost a daily occurrence especially MOT testing in New Zealand for 4 years never saw a broken one.
Leaf springs on Utes was a different story though.

Morning all. Up early (wish) to set the garden up.

Sun bed, umbrella, inflate and fill the new paddling pool for Joseph.

Just need the clouds to part and the sun to come out.

Don't disagree with that proposition at all but be aware that some will loose their London weighting allowance if they are not London based any more!

My eldest is hoping to move (new mortgage) before losing hers...

Fair point. I'd hope that the sort of companies that provide a London weighting will acknowledge that employees will still live in the same area. I'm guessing many people will still be expected to be in the office from time to time for meetings and other fun stuff; although commuting costs could come down, being in the office 3x per week costs around the same as an annual season ticket.

Seems to be a yearly occurance with the Mercs , at least one of them generally needs one come mot time , i think the quantity of speed humps around the estates here plays a big part in it , though not had it with others cars ive owned here, always replaced with genuine merc parts aswell , other than that the cars are pretty much Ronseal

It's not so much just about living, but the cost associated to working regularly in London. I used to get a London weighting, but lived well outside. Travel though was something like £17 plus fuel. Per day

A peak-time return from oot 'ere, boy, that'll set you back the fat end o' sixty quid. Plus shoe leather.
