That’s not good Andy, so glad I got our roof sorted last summer, we have weathered the recent storms without damage.

I do hate the companies that come out though....One said 10k but with their offers and because we have been with them before £5490.......Yeah right.......Interesting thing is that local companies do not want to know. you would think they would need the work.

Just my thought

It's a pain in the **** job due to the car port so think it puts them off. Although I heard others say the same about local companies. Say they want the business but either never come or so and never quote.

Nope, because the battens were rotten its wear and tear as if they weren't rotten they say it wouldn't have come down.
But surely your battens were rotten because your roof was not weather tight. There is usually plenty of air flow in an attic. Or at least mine have all had draughty air in them.
insurance pi55es me off.

Evening all been awol for a while as house renovation took over.
Been working on Bedroom/en suite, kitchen/utility room and garden. Happy to say Bedroom/en suite is 90% done and by the time I get back from my cruise starting next week the new kitchen will be installed and utility room 50% done. Garden too is ok!
All with the aim of warmth, comfort and practicality as I age!
I have been responsible for the destruction and demolition and some rebuilding and found out you cannot fit 8 foot 3x2 timber in a QP without use of rear windows being down! The whole project will take about a year and a lot of dosh
So winding house stuff down and packing for the Caribbean - yippee
Kept up with other posts and you lot are idiots.
Enjoy Pic of the day (what happened to QoD?) and Brexit - what happened there? Weight loss, I am doing well and Watties Gold is the stuff of legend
Keep it up chaps. Off for a beer now
