Morning all and Happy Valentines Day.

Good excuse (not that I need one!) to open a nice bottle of wine (or 2) with Mrs H and sit in front of the fire tonight.

Morning all, went to the Ace last night with Jeanette to meet Urby, surprised to see two other Maseratis there, didn’t find the owners though. Loads of Abarths.

Today we are back in Islington to do more rope repairs.

Have fun all...

Hello everyone!
Newton, your work rocks! I have definitely noticed how many play parks around here have more interesting stuff with different play challenges. Yes, I miss the mega-high swing that used to be by the outer bailey of Beaumaris Castle on Angelsey. My brother, cousin and I used to go on that and swing as high as we could and imagine jumping off and over the ramparts.
In other news, the Merc is a write-off, both economically and safety (>£15k quote and one crash structure bent) so now I'm having to do that fight the insurance for the right money. Their first offer was based on cars that aren't even the same model! I have now sent through all 6 Mercedes 250d 4Matic estate adverts that I could find for sale in the whole country. Unfortunately there isn't a single one near the spec that mine was as it was quite the unicorn.
HapPea Friday! I love you all xXx

Stevie, that is a real shame to have it written off, I hope you get a respectable offer in the end; take it the 3rd party are still denying liability?

I'm getting the interim payment sorted pending the review of value. So far it seems that the insurers don't have a response from the 3rd party and, being the same insurer for both parties, having not heard a thing yet seems odd. The chap said he thinks it's my fault entirely "You went into the back of it so it must be your fault" showing how naive he is and really should have got the story from the girl driving!

In other news, EVERY time I've spoken with Aviva they have been extremely helpful, clear, patient and reassuring. I'd be happy to pay a bit more to stay with them than change insurer (though, of course, bargain with them first) when it comes to my next car.

Best of luck Stevie. I think if I'm going to end up doing many more miles again, a dashcam will be in my future

I absolutely agree on the dashcam. It's one of those "I just hadn't got round to it yet" things and then procrastination bites.

Afternoon from Wakefield. Stayed overnight in Southport a meeting there first thing. Now here before the long drive back to Kent.
Might see the missus for about 5 minutes today!

I think the brake pads are now destroyed on the Jag so I’ll have to nurse it home.
Booked in for first thing Monday morning.

Sure it's not the frayed sensor cable issue?

Dropped off the Vantage for some paintwork this morning and now have a loaner Cayman for, I dunno, however long it takes. It's only the 2.5l / 4 cyl thing but it's perky enough. Gets up and goes well enough, despite the turbo lag, but lacks the low-down grunt of the Vantage, which isn't remotely surprising. The handling is superb, though.

Well the GS is off the the Classic Car Hub for storage as I handed over the keys to the old spare house today... 2 1/2 years of faff and a solid 36 hours non stop getting it emptied and cleaned up.

God, how do we accumulate so much ****?!?

Now need to get some ideas for the home office/garage/man-cave.

Oh and almost forgot flowers on bubbles for Charlie...hopefully I will be in the good books and she will let me get an early night.

36 hours?? Bloody ****, Peter, your car must have completely full of crarp.

You should try to use it this year; I can't believe that you don't miss driving such a wonderful car.
