Hello everyone!
Tea methinks. Actually, tea so that methinks.
Looking forward to breakfast. Unfortunately, later today I have to consider and prepare for returning to work after a pleasantly chilled out fortnight off.
HapPea Sunday!

Morning all, I can concur; getting the roof fixed was money well spent, even changing the windows has kept the rain out, got the pebbledashing company here at lunchtime to price up redoing the back wall for us. I think the rain is set for the day.

Have fun all...

Yes, agreed, Newton. Much as I love frittering money on cars and holidays, there's a lot to be said for keeping your house upright. We've had a ton of work done on the outside and in over the last month (hopefully now drawing to a close) and we're starting to fall in love with the place again. Well, I am - mostly I've been away, so Mrs Crud has borne the brunt of the inevitable repair and renovation agro. Trouble is, it's so old and creaky that it won't be long before something else needs attention. The house, that is, not Mrs Crud. Mrs C is in fine fooling, I'm pleased to report.

Yes my sleepy old place is very creaky and the house is something she has been nagging me about for a long time. Trouble is I’ve not been in a good place financially for many years and this year has seen a huge turn around in fortunes comparatively. This has thankfully allowed me to take the brakes of the house repairs and we are seeing the benefit of doing so. Most of the kids have now gained financial independence and it he’s finally allowed some breathing space. I wouldn’t have believed they could cost so much but I wouldn’t have stood by as they wanted for anything. My old dad used to have the mantra: “Dear father you have worked for me all of your life, now fcuk of and working for yourself!” Seems terribly fitting somehow.

Morning,
Rain for the day I think, was going to nip up and wash the car etc but not sure it’s worth the effort now.

Surprise sunshine here in Hertfordshire so a run out in the GTS for breakfast and then a drive through the Chilterns.

Morning all. I really ought to go wash the car as it’s dirty from the run to Alton and being parked in a muddy field

Morning, seriously late today as I had to put up some new fencing to secure the garden ready for the arrival of Bentley - I think I preferred it when we had a smaller garden

Morning all.

Boxes get delivered for packing up the house.
Hopefully we get our mortgage offer (in writing) this week after they survey the building site where our new house is being built.
Not sure what purpose that fills but the lenders insist on the survey.

Then it's all systems go, as we'll probably be out in 2-3 weeks.

In the meantime work is crazy, which is a good thing as I have a new house to pay for!

Box ticking and money making scheme. Just send them a picture of the plot...

Exactly that! £200 for it!
It's right up there with the £500 we have had to pay for land searches! FFS! If the ground was on an old mine or there was going to be a motorway built through it I'm pretty sure the developer would know before building on it!!!
