That sounds nasty. They said I had a particular severe case, and said something about dysentry type symptoms. To be honest I'm not too sure as I was up to my eyeballs in drugs and had a temperature which at one point almost hit 40 and then 30 minutes later was at 32 (so my wife tells me).
Apparently both can kill you! :(

I was wondering where you’d got to, Mark, and had been planning on texting you to make sure all was well. Good thing I didn’t bother seeing as you chucked your phone in the drink. Anyway, sorry to read about your campywotsits, sounds horrible. Welcome back. Good luck for a speedy return to normal. Well, what passes as normal.

Morning all.

Back 'in the room' so to speak after an eventful couple of weeks.
The short version is as follows:-

On the Wednesday after the bank holiday I was rushed to hospital with suspected meningitis and put on a concoction of drugs to ease both the excruciating pain in my head and the counteract the 'bacteria'.
On the Thursday I had 4 attempts at a lumbar puncture, (3 by a doctor who clearly had no idea what he was doing, resulting in even more pain, before an anaesthetist did it perfectly.

Anyway after 6 days of this it turns out that fortunately I didn't have meningitis, however, I did have a severe case of food poisoning, something called camplybactor (something like that) which apparently kills about 50 people in the UK each year.

As I'm not dead, I guess I got off lightly after spending all that time in hospital.

As I was in hospital for that length of time it also meant that I couldn't go on holiday so that was cancelled, although we did manage a short weekend break over the weekend.
Where I promptly lost my phone after it fell out my pocket and into a river. Joy.

Anyway, am now back in work with a gazillion emails to catch up on.
Geez that sounds like you’ve been through the mill! Welcome back and let’s hope life is a little easier and healthier for you now.

Morning all, blimey Mark sounds nasty. I was wondering where you had gone.

In work today but my manic life continues. Strad goes from Ace tomorrow, back with Zep and on the transporter off to Italy with the other SM cars. Thus all my cloths and **** have to be packed in the boot. No time to even wax her.

I have done nothing so far.

I feel for you Mark! It must be going round at the moment. I had the same the weekend before you and spent 9 days in hospital after getting airlifted from the rig (as per my post on here last week). My infection got complicated due to me having Crohn's disease so the inflamed bowel caused an obstruction and I narrowly avoided my second surgery. Good way to loose weight though eh? I lost 10% of my body weight in a week lol
Hope you get back to full strength soon!

Good morning to the rest of you. Hope your all having better weeks lol
Looking forward to Ace tomorrow, just wondering if I'll get a chance to clean the old girl before hand.

Good Morning all.
Didn't get much done yesterday so I'm going to try harder today.
Being asked to commit for a project in Japan for October but not sure I want to be out of France if Brexit happens.
Have a Good Hump Day.

Good morning everyone,
Late start for me, (lazy g!t, I know),
Phil, it didn't start as the fuel pump made noise but no pumpy pumpy. New one should arrive tomorrow for fitting Friday evening. Hopefully I can then get fuel to the carbs. Spark plug sparks and compression is good so I'm hopeful of it starting up.

Nothing unusual there for Martin, eh?

Morning everyone!

Somehow a missed a few days - Mark!!! WHATT!!!! Please get better quickly and, more importantly, fully!

Monte Carlo F1 - is that a SM takeover you're suggesting? Sounds unwise!

In my exciting news... today I get the corner-desk I'd requested. It also looks like I can't come to Ace this week, even in the barge.

HapPea Whateverdayitis!
