@Andyk , I've never heard anything bad about Croatia, but nor have I any first-hand experience. If that helps!

Morning, all. Off to the bog smoke today to attempt a passable pretense at work, but also to go to an event with one of my favourite partners this afternoon and then out for dinner.

Morning all from Buxton, slept like a log! Also know nothing of Croatia Andy but sounds like an opportunity not to be missed. Off to Leeds this morning and working my way home from there. Big dog spent the night at the vets and will be having ‘investigations’ today for a lameness.

Have fun all...

Good morning everyone, having a week off from the emails and turning it off and on again to do some proper manual labour today. Fencing. Not épée foil or sabre but featheredge....
Hope your feeling better Stevie. Andy, Croatia is lovely, an aunt and uncle used to go every year to Dalmatia in the old Yugoslavia days. The Croats are great.

Hello everyone!
Another day of amusing my colleagues whilst artificially loopy. I think it's improving. After last night I'm out of stock of valium so I'll try some light exercise to get things moving and relaxing.
HapPea Tuesday!

Morning all.....4 days and counting. Was looking to jump in the car the weekend and go to France but been tempted but a lovely Villa in Croatia that's a great value last minute deal. My sister in law says its like Italy but cheaper. Anyone had experience of Croatia ?
Great coastline - especially further north.

Morning all

It's been a while so I thought that it was about time that I stopped by to say hello.
The last 18 months or so have been super busy since I was last here, work has been flat out and being self employed has meant a few sacrifices but all's well.
I still have the Stradale, I'm well into my third year & it's not going anywhere.

Anyway, I hope you're all well and I have one or two posts to catch up on, plus there seems to be a new (to me) layout that I need to get to grips with.

Have a good day & enjoy the sun

Morning and welcome back Stu.

At the workshop today with lots of jobs on which myself, Ashley and Ryan are all super happy about. The work so far has been split in to a third Maserati, a third Ferrari and a third domestic.

Morning all.

Got my start time for Ride London. 7.36am! Brilliant, which means I get a decent nights sleep unlike those who start at 5am and have to be 'loaded' at just after 4am!
Should be done for between 1 & 2 (as long as I don't run into any issues, such as exhaustion!) which means an afternoon in the pub!!!!

Not a great nights sleep so today I shall be trying to nap at my desk.

Welcome back Stu!
Capes, are you doing this one sponsored and have I missed a good cause?

Now I've been in the office for an hour or so I can safely say I'm feeling pretty loopy, and loving it!

I got in through the ballot, but have set up a Just giving page but not done anything to advertise the fact.
Any donations would be gratefully received.

Ok, update on the hound; it seems the issue with his hip is a shallow socket but they couldn't see that it had been out of place but that if it had it would be unlikely to have popped back on its own! some arthritis but not excessive for a 7 year old spaniel (mad as a hatter), it is looking more like a tweaked nerve or possibly spinal. so after all that it is still a scatter gun answer...

More rest and taking it easy although they suggest hydrotherapy which is easy with a spaniel! We will however look into this with the insurance.

our dog had the patella thingy about 4 years ago where the grove is shallow and joint pops in and out, luckily the insurance picked up the 5k bill for that Noel Fitzpratrick to sort it out, hopefully your insurance should foot the bill, our dog is like the 3rd child and part of the family, hope it works out for your mutt

Our dog also had hip dysplasia which was diagnosed at 10 months. Although a hip replacement was discussed this was deemed to be too early in the dogs life as an option at that point (also was going to be £5-6000!). The vets suggested hydrotherapy as a way of building up the muscles around the joint to help support it and although highly sceptical that this would work we tried it. I'd have to say that it was miraculous and he went from being very lame to sound within about 6 weeks and basically stayed that way for the rest of his life. We generally went once a month to a very good hydrotherapist (this is one on one not several dogs jumping into a pool and swimming about) who really knew her stuff. Done right the dog has to work hard and this is what builds up the supporting muscles. We probably paid out the same sort of money over the years as that original hip replacement would have cost, bearing in mind that he would have also needed another one at some point, but considered it well worth it.

No wonder my veterinarian friend only works 3 days a week, has three houses rented out and is retiring soon... He's 50 in November
