10 years old and 123000 miles not bad for a city car Phil it has been good value as we bought it with scrappage on an old Land Rover.

Morning all. Dinner party tonight with my old pals the winos. It'll be messy. On the plus side I have some trouser wiggle room having just hit 196.

Have a good day, all

Have you seen what old Land Rovers are going for today ?
Unless it was a Freelancer or Discovery.

Morning all, lovely day but got to take the RR in as there is an obvious air leak on the rear suspension, suspect the garage knocked something when they changed a rear wheel bearing at the its service this week.

Old LRs Defenders are crazy money.
When I was looking for a Pinin visited a specialist in LRs and he commented that a lot of the older Defenders and Discoveries shouldn't be on the road due to rotted chassis, but the market, especially Defenders, has encouraged lots of bodges...

Will be fitting a new stereo head unit to the Pinin today. Even though 2000 so 19 years old, it came with factory fitted sat nav! Can't find a disc for it however and really want DAB and hands free phone.
Fortunately Mitsubishi made the system up of several DIN sized units, head unit and CD disc drive, so easy to swop out. Can use the top dash colour display for maybe some gauges/light bar switches.
Popped into Halfords and bought a Sony head unit. Bluetooth (2 phones at once) audio streaming and hands free calls, DAB, USB, phono and the normal FM for £89! Sorted.
Already bought a loom adapter so should be plug and play.
Also bought an adapter so the original aerial can be used for the DAB. See how that one goes as they either work well, or not ar all. Want to avoid a glass mount DAB aerial if possible.

Got a link to that? My glass mount sucks really badly and since I'm going to have the NIT out again......

Morning
Just home from Newcastle and the Brian Cox Physics lecture last night.
Good event well presented Physics lecture with added light relief.
Then the delights of central Newcastle for some refreshments.
A good evening had by all

I've bought this one:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eightwood-...0609&sr=8-3-spell&keywords=dab+arial+adapters

There are many to choice from, some amplified, some not.
Can't really see the point of an amplified one, the signal is either there or not, if not, what is the point of amplification?
I'm no electronics engineer though!
It arrives today sometime so will let you know if it works with a 19 year old pull out a-pillar aerial!

Thanks. Won't fit the GT NIT though. I shall do some digging.

I enjoyed it but having read the books it sort of reinforced my knowledge. I drifted off a couple of times in the 2nd half, didn’t go into Newcastle..;)
