Morning to you all from Auckland.
My last weekend here for who knows when.
Delivering my Range Rover to a guy who is flying up from Queenstown South Island and bought it unseen.
She has been a Stunner so I hope he is happy.
On my way to Europe :)

Safe travels Phil.

A good evening working with my brother dismantling the milling machine from my dad’s workshop, three machines are going tomorrow to someone of this parish.

Love the way you say a good evening Newton....That feels like work to me and not a very nice Friday evening. Fair play to you.

******* ******* wankers I want to kill them all.

Got woken up at 4:55am today as my house alarm was triggered.

Woke up went downstairs and was greeted by a hoodied youngster who had just opened my front door as their escape route and his mate in my living room. He shouted for his mate “Nico” and legged it.

They sprinted out the front door and I gave chase.

Went back into my house assessed what they had stolen - only my wife’s phone from the sofa.

Called the police (was on hold for a good few mins!!! as they were too busy).

My wife and I are quite trusting so we both have the find my friends option always turned on. So I tracked her phone and saw them running down the street and across some train tracks and hiding in a garden.

Told the police. There was a helicopter on scene almost immediately and they had found two suspects hiding in a garden.

They were waiting for foot patrol and canine unit.

In the end one guy got away. How the **** that happens when you have a helicopter above with IR and heat tracking is beyond me.

But they caught the other guy and recovered our phone. Though I won’t be seeing it for many weeks as it now evidence and probably will be going to court.

The person they caught is a well known youngster (15 years old) always missing and always in trouble.

Need to go through my CCTV footage now to see if I got their faces. They climbed through our upstairs bathroom window whilst we slept.

Anyway - that was an adrenaline rush. So glad I was at home and wasn’t away on business. If my wife and two kids had been harmed and I tracked them down ..... I wouldn’t be doing anything to them but I would be spending all my money on people who could.

The police came round pretty quickly. Took statements and one of the questions was did I feel any different now someone had been in my house. To be honest I thought I would feel unsafe and threatened. But because we caught one of the bastards within 30mins I don’t.

Need to toughen up the security at home though even more. Going to get lock stops for every window. So even if they are open you can’t open it large enough to get in.

Cocking ********, Hoyin. Sorry to hear that!

I'm planning on a slightly less fraught day, and hope you have one as well

Bl00dy heck Hoyin, I’m instantly reminded of waking to an empty driveway two years ago. Horrible feeling and not easy to get over. Keep the family close today.

Well as above today is moving day for the machines from dad’s workshop; I thought I’d be more emotional about it but the reality is I don’t have an emotional attachment to them, I guess because he bought them after they moved up to Buxton so they are not part of my childhood.

Have fun all...

Oh my what a tale. Must have been scary finding some stranger in you living room. Well done for giving chase and a pretty good outcome. Still a very unpleasant experience.

A little storm damage to remedy today hopefully.
Good morning

Feck Hoyin, quick thinking so well done. No doubt the fifteen year old will get nothing other than another slap on the wrist.

Offered a custodial or leave the country I say...the choice as they say is yours.

Morning,

Miserable weather outside so it looks like a day of video editing for me. Just corrected a couple of videos of the Spider to restore the sound that I'd managed to lose. Isle of Man trip videos in the Ghibli next, though I took a load so it could take a while to do.

Scary stuff that Limoncello, too easy to drink ;)

Have a great day all

Police have been really proactive.

Helicopter and canine unit immediately to apprehend them.

Then around my house already - beat officers, CID and forensics.

Apparently they have trying to catch these guys for weeks! So they all said thanks and well done.

But next time best not to chase them.

They have both in custody and ready for interview so if they can get all the evidence together in time then it would be a really good outcome for them.

Good to see the police force working well.
