The good morning thread

How can it have such a high lambda? I wou!e have thought that meant only 1 cylinder was getting fuel and the other 3 were just pumping air. Does it have cylinder disablement?
Not something I knew about either. They’re a lean burn engine apparently and under the right circumstances will run so lean you get a high lambda.

Probably ought to say morning in the good morning thread.

Good morning!

Ill explain the full saga of my last few weeks trying to fix a car that’s apparently not broken:

So it failed the MOT on high lambda. There was a small crack in the front flexi from the cat to the exhaust. So fair enough that’d cause high lambda. I replaced the pipe and put the computer on it but lambda was still 2-something.

I think it idles a bit rough, if it was a carb I’d say it was lean. So I’ve spent ages trying to find a cause. Eventually I found on line a lot of posts about high lambda and and MOT. It’s normal under the right circumstances (load, engine temp etc) and the emissions book for testers shows the range up to 4. So you learn something new everyday.

Good morning everyone and late to the party as I've been struggling with my French lesson boy it's hard in your 60's learning a language.
Ms French working from home as it's Hump Day.

Tim one of the most useful bits of kit I have here is my smoke test machine so useful in many ways.
Have a lovely day all.

I’ve got one too. No leaks from inlet or exhaust now

Morning awakers, Luton job today, the last of the present batch of zip lines to repair, this one needs loads including two new legs!

Present a passenger in the van after I came over all weak at filling it up. £153.11 at Costco!

Have fun all…

Morning mob. Thursday. PT first, on the new schedule which might give my legs some time to recover before run club on Saturday (although my hamstring is still stuffed)

Then meetings, then physio on said hamstring this afternoon.

Have a good one, all

Good morning Chris and everyone.
Was supposed to be going to get my new residency card done but for the second time they've cancelled it.
French administration can be difficult at times so need to sort that today.
Nearly the weekend though.
Have a lovely day all.

Morning awakers, back to Luton again, blooming hard digging for the lad yesterday, he took over 3 hours to break out one rotten leg so a repeat is expected today whilst I do the bits above. Later to the Cliffs Pavilion again but this time to see Harry Enfield.

Have fun all…

Going to take it on a little Euro trip with Zep, go see Adnan at ASM, head to Modena to pick up a load of Bora spares from Campag plus Zeps Sud parts from various locations.

At a wedding in the New Forest, Newton dropping a couple of Masers Friday I believe.
