Thought I had better dig out all the gear for the shoot tomorrow, first thing I do is walk down the garden and collect two sticks from the pile; the flipping dogs go Berzerk! And haven’t stopped yet!

Morning all, well today is the first shoot of this delayed season and the birds are fat because they have not been flying. Dogs are super excited and my eldest is taking her Labrador for the first time. Hope he doesn’t turn out to be gun shy!

Morning all,
1/2 day(5hrs) in work for me. Incentivised drive to finish the planning and earn an Xmas bonus. I’d rather not be here but would be letting the team down if I didn’t turn out.

Morning! Today will be spent driving home from York with Crud the younger. It was a bugger of a drive up yesterday through the snow. I'm glad Mrs C persuaded me it shouldn't be a day trip. She was right.

Well, pleased to report the Lab is not gun shy, handled the day very well indeed. His was as an observer today but he managed to hold a couple of birds but not carry them. This will come to him quickly no doubt. Problem is due to COVID his training got put on hold this year so we are doing it back to front a bit. Amazingly his breeder it turns out is on the shoot! He was stoked to see one of his puppies looking so magnificent. Anyway a good bag and I have two very tired hounds trying to dry themselves after a shower.

I have some butchering to do this evening.

A day like all other days.
Can't visit family or freinds and receive likewise.
No blasting a few clays followed by a drink at the local.
No taking the family out for lunch.
