The Good Morning Thread

Yawn!

Hello everybody,

Just de-hibernating and trying to find out what's going on in the Alfa world.

Not dead but only sleeping perhaps Mr zagatoes30?

Seems to me though that most of the Alfisti are on 'Faebook' these days, away with the fairies IMHO.
I say this because personally I greatly value my privacy and am still reeling from that fellow Sucks audacity in after sending me an 'everythings changed , we're nice guys really' unrepentant note, ended it by suggesting that I sign up to their face recognition facility! WHAT!!!!!
This just after insulting the UK government by refusing to explain his companies abuse of our citizens personal data.
That is why I avoid using that nest of vipers.

Good news!
by My GTV6 is being a GTV again after at least 2 1/2 years of worsening overheating problems which I had blamed on the pattern replacement radiator and it had been marked on my hit list for replacement.
Now, a cautionary tale:-
I had a new cambelt fitted early this year and this really put things on a different level as the change produced a large heap of exra bhp during the process and the temperature went off the scale within a few miles of 'normal' driving. ;)
When I bought the car I was assured that a new water pump with a metal impellor had been fitted by a reputable Alfa garage (They advertise that they only use this type) so there seemed no need to replace the water pump.
Needless to say I was misled on both counts - I had a split plastic impellor which was turning on the serrated drive shaft :)
All sorted now and running @ 90 or less indicated.

For those of you guys who have the V6 engine in their Alfa,
If it starts to run abnormally hot :-
Don't do what I did and make any assumptions.

I'm hoping to sort out the battle damage soon on the GTV but it is a specal year for the English car - 45 years to celebrate so there is an urgent need to get it road legal first by ripping out about 30 feet of spurious wiring, about 40 ty-wraps (so far) and all those innefectual Chinese fuses and coloured badly designed and crimped connectors as well as the rusty hardware store overlong self tapping screws securing the trim. :)

Anyone else doing 'owt?

Just looking forward to some driving.
Am MoT'd (not strictly necessary but sensible 'insurance') and oil changed (+ filter / gearbox + diff).
Next thing - maybe later today, it's lovely ......- an 'Italian Tune Up'

Sunday 10am the Welsh AROC are having a breakfast meet at Chepstow Garden Centre with a run into Wales after.
Usually a few from the Bristol area attend as well.
I'm sure both you and your special car would be very welcome.
May be a bit far for you to attend?

Morning all, Just seen Jeanetta off to Romford with four dogs in the car with her! I shall be following down the A12 shortly, got a day of ropes in Croydon.

Have fun all...

Hi, and welcome.

This a general thread for SportsAlfa members to check in and say hi each morning and let us hear about your day and what you have planned.

Rsorder OSRS: If you prefer using ranged combat to take down Cockatrices,it's important to choose equipment that maximizes your accuracy and damage output. A high-tier dragonhide armour set is essential for boosting your defense while maintaining a high level of RuneScape gold ranged accuracy. The Magic Shortbow is a popular weapon choice, thanks to its fast attack speed and special attack, which allows for two shots at once, greatly increasing your damage per second (DPS).

When it comes to ammunition,Amethyst arrows offer a solid balance between cost and damage, but if your budget allows, you can use Rune arrows for an extra boost in damage output. Additionally, bringing Ava's device to help retrieve your arrows will save you money and make the task more cost-effective in the long run.
Equipment for Melee

For melee combat, you'll want to prioritize gear that maximizes both your offensive and defensive stats. Wearing the best platebody and platelegs or plateskirt available to you—such as Adamant,Rune,or Dragon—will ensure you can withstand the Cockatrice's attacks while maintaining a high level of offense.

Your weapon choice is crucial; the Abyssal whip is a fantastic option for those who can wield it,offering high attack speed and strength bonuses. If you haven't unlocked the whip yet,the Dragon Scimitar is a solid alternative, providing both speed and damage.

Adding a defender, such as the Dragon defender, can provide a significant boost to your offensive capabilities, along with a modest defensive bonus. Don't forget to equip your mirror shield in the shield slot to guard against the Cockatrice's petrifying gaze. If you haven't obtained the Fire Cape yet,the Obsidian Cape or the Ardougne Cape are good alternatives for additional defense and offensive bonuses.
Equipment for Magic

For mages, focusing on maximizing your magic accuracy and damage is key. The Mystic set is a great option for mages on a budget, providing a solid boost to magic accuracy and damage without breaking the bank. For higher-level mages, the Ahrim's set from the Barrows minigame offers a significant increase in magic strength, making your spells even more potent.

Your weapon choice will depend on your budget and preferred spellbook. For low-level mages, the Staff of Air is an excellent choice as it eliminates the rune cost for air spells, making your attacks more cost-efficient. If you're looking for a more powerful option, the Trident of the Seas or Trident of the Swamp is a fantastic weapon, thanks to its faster casting speed and higher damage output.

If you're aiming to use Slayer Dart, the Slayer's Staff (e) is a solid choice,as it reduces the rune cost per cast, making it an efficient option for training. Regardless of your weapon choice, the mirror shield remains essential for protecting against the Cockatrice's gaze during the fight.
Final Considerations

Slaying Cockatrices in OSRS is an excellent early task for Slayer training, offering valuable drops and experience. Whether you're focusing on medium clue scrolls, mystic boots (light),or simply looking to progress through Slayer levels, this task can provide a rewarding experience if approached with OSRS gold the right gear and strategy.
