My dogs are part of the family and are cared for as such.
I spent last night sleeping on the living room floor and on the hard floor in the hallway as one of mine wasn’t well (in between taking him out into the garden to relieve his diarrhoea)
The only time I’ve cried in my adult life was when I lost my previous dog, to the point my daughters said with surprise “I didn’t know grown men could cry”.
That said, I’m not going to sit in the pub saying “coochie coo coo” to them. (We have adult conversations )
I have kids and no emotional issues. I don’t think.
