Here’s a little run down on what I’ve been doing to the 3200. It’s a car I’ve always wanted so was semi prepared for the task in hand. It’s only money eh!

Oil
Oil filter
Air filters
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Coolant replaced
Oil pressure sender
V belt
Timing belt
Two tensioner bearings
Water pump (bloody expensive)
Engine parts powder coated
Brake fluid
Brake refresh
Wheels refurbished
Wheel nuts refurbished
New Michelin Pilot Sport 4s
Air bag leather repair
Seat bolster repair
New carpet mats
Automatic gearbox rear bearing and seal.

And I bought a good car! :)

good work the engine should look good once you are done, post some pics. Next year you can sort out the suspension arms, phonic rings, and throttle body and pedal sensor and then the following year you can get all the rust fixed and then the next year you can start again, its like the forth bridge it never really ends. I am on my 4th full maintenance cycle (13th year of ownership) and this year is timing belt again and water pump.

Getting gear re-chromed is a bit **** these days since the regs have changed, basically making the all important chemical required a no go..
Dont be too disappointed if this is the route you chose..!

What did you do with the wheel bolts? Respray or re-chrome?

I just sanded them down and gave them a paint then bought the cheap 22mm chrome caps off eBay as I wasn’t happy with the finish. The caps look ok. Better than rusty bolts.

I messed about with covers for a while and got pretty fed up with the mincing about and just got the bolts chromed and this is by far the best solution.

May I ask how much you paid for the rechroming? I asked a company in Austria and it would have been the same price like buying new bolts.
