I was watching the latest Harry’s Garage vid and he mentioned the weight of the latest 3 door electric Mini. It’s heavier than my E class estate!!

Won't be as well built and with the British roads some big maintenance bills ahead I should guess.

I think so. The oil cooler is done. It’s had a habit of going into limp mode recently under heavy throttle and especially if it’s hot and been sitting for a while and then needs a bootfull such as leaving motorway services. It was coming up with a continuity error in the boost controller so sent that off to be rebuilt. It was much better but still did the same once. I’ve since found the boost pressure sensor was sooted up and a crack in the intact hose before the turbo. I’ve fixed both those so keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes, in reverse!

Slightly click baity title tbf. Diesel tech in terms of efficiency peaked in early 2000’s because they decided they also needed to make them cleaner. But before that happened dieselgate landed and no diesels are the devil.
 
My next car is going to be a diesel again. Negotiations on a 21 Velar 240 HSE are ongoing
