Another subject I know little to nothing about similar to wine. Like wine I am open and susceptible to anything very nice however subjective.

We have little art. Of course we have lots of fab kids art. My 12yo son has been doodling and drawing for years and spends hours blissfully sitting their drawing at times. Lovely to see and admire as I am useless at anything creative like this.

I randomly bought a piece from a local artist who knocked on the door years ago in the old house. Most of her stuff was either useless (IMHO) or not my cup of tea but one stood out for me. It was fresh, vibrant, energetic and positive which is always a nice thing to walk past each day. It has a kind of rice paper face/overlay to the underlying canvas and the paint is very 3D with nice thick/raised profile. We just got it mounted on a frame-less backing to wall mount. It cost £50 and I was amazed how little it was for how much time, effort and material had gone into it.

Well your sons clearly got the car bug and he’s some drawing ability too. Nice

I also like the local artist original- the bold colours remind me of Alexandra Nichita

The only original art we have are a couple fo collages by Ade Brannan Ade Brannan - Artist, Ade is primarily a professional photographer who does many classic car shoots (car.photography.Adrian.Brannan.abcarpix.htm) but he makes up these scenes from hundreds of photos. The originals have the texture of multiple photos which the prints don't have and photos rarely capture

We are in the process of commissioning Ade to do a collage of Silverstone Circuit as a reminder of where we use to live

Some gouache paintings and Technical illustrations I did back in the 80's. I promised my brother I would finish the Bentley for him 30 years ago and my eyes are not as sharp as they were back then!!63339

Never been good at drawing, other than the curtains but now I have blinds, so another wasted talent.
I used to watch the other kids at school draw trying to get tips but I could never work out whether they knew what they were going to draw from the start or did it just evolve as they went on. Like these bikes for example. Did you know the shape beforehand and then filled in the detail or did you know the 'look and feel' straight away? It's always amazed me.

I had a rough idea what I wanted in my head, I sort of 'see it' in three dimensions and start sketching, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Haven't done much lately though, need to get back on the horse I suppose ;). My Mrs. is a good painter and sells the odd one or two sometimes.

Anyone know who painted this? I’d be delighted to find out who did it (and the moron who overpainted some of the clothes in bright red.) Not many peoples’ cuppa tea, but i like it and it’s a bit Christmassy?

At face value, it appears to be a C15th icon of the Miracle of St. George.
Perhaps these guys might be able to provide further information?

Hope that helps?

Thanks - had no idea there was such an organisation. I wonder if they also have a Brexit thread with cheese references and impressive female parts?

Last thing we need is politics in car forums (indeed, leave it to the iconographers!); don't want it to end up like SELOC who seem to have as many threads on politics as they do about cars;)

Indeed. At the risk of hijacking a thread with commercial art for a while, I have filled my office with these and other car adverts. There must be others on here who have done the same?

Had a client meeting this morning, at The Photographers Gallery near Oxford Street. I thought it was particularly arty.
