Well she is back from a 2 year exile and not sure what to do next. There are a few obvious options but your thoughts and opinions would be most welcome.

Sell her on as is?

Extract & sell all GS bits and return back to stock 4200? Then sell a very very cheap 4200.

Fix it up a bit to get it as good as it can be and sell at higher price?

Break it up and sell the whole car as parts over time?

Agreed. Although an early 4200 at circa 5k should be nice and easy to shift. The WBAC valuation is 6488 and obviously their system will expect it to be stock 4200 with no idea about GS bits.

The GS bits could be worth maybe 3-4k at a guess once stock 4200 replacements have gone on and even if WBAC gave 5.5k that would return maybe 8.5-9k.

However then it would be better to leave as is and sell as is to return the same maybe more with none of the hassle. I'm tempted to advertise it at 11995 and sit on it to see if there are any takers.

I do have a facelift 4200 in Blu Nettuno the same that I could swap over all GS bits onto making that the GS and this 4200 would be returned to stock then but a facelift look rather than Classico look. Not sure that achieves too much but is an option.

I was thinking of popping the facelift 4200 up at 12995 and sell for 12k possibly but trying to ascertain its value. It is a very nice example but not a dealer retailed car.

If I could achieve 20k for both possibly more that would work.

Both are Blu Nettuno and both have ball polished alloys albeit one with GS 19's and other with 7 Spoke 18"s.

I reckon the earlier GS look car would be easier to achieve 10k in revenues broken as parts but seems a terrible thing to do. Better and easier to sell for 10k rather than hassle of breaking/selling as parts for same number.

It would be a shame if it became a breaker and another car gone but I know that many people would chase the GS bits.
From my involvement with Maserati I'm still an ardent fan of the 4200 Classico the original of most things is Iconic in my opinion.

Agreed Phil. It's a tough one as at the price I paid 3 years ago it made less sense to break. Now it is a tougher decision.

I would prefer to keep it whole even if it returned slightly less. I have someone interested in it as is but depends on the number if I sell or not.

I'm in no rush to do anything with it, have plenty of space/storage and don't desperately need the cash. So an ideal position to be in to be able to sit on it for a while to achieve the best result.

The BP do looking really good on a Blu Nettuno car. Not sure they work with all colours. Don't think they would look right on my Grigio Nuvolari one.

They will need a refurb so not sure the number would make sense. Thinking about it I wonder if you can get standard GS alloys refurbed as BP. They do certainly look good on Blu Nettuno for sure.

Amazing how different they look and the sound is massively different. Both had rear boxes deleted and straight through pipes rears. The 4200/GS is possibly the best 4200 sound I have heard. Much higher pitch and very Ferrari like.

Just noticed a subtle difference between facelift and GS front bumpers I never noticed before. I knew the side vent was on GS and not facelift bumpers but though they were the same other than that.

If you look close enough the height of gap in from vent is bigger on GS one and shallower on facelift one

Need to get No. 2 on the lift to see what exhaust mods have been done as it is the best sounding 4200 I've heard. Sounds like a race car at full tilt.

Yes the splitter is quite a bit lower, you can however change just the splitter but the mounting pointment are slightly different at the cross members although the holes are hidden and only visible if run over by the car. Easier just to swap the whole bumper.

No 2 by far, not a GS fan but cheap it must make sense to someone. Does it not have a clutch pending, i.e. high miles since last?

Not sure about clutch. Haven't noticed any slipping on driving. It doesn't have perfect gear engagement but I'm not sure if that is linkage wear or needs linkage adjusted and/or lubricated. Or could be clutch or could be both. Gears engage OK but I'm sure they could be better.

I think I am going to list the car on the open market likely on an Ebay Classified Ad forever for £9995 and see what the market thinks of it. Maybe even send it to auction is possible. Seems terrible to break it although it would probably achieve the highest return. It wouldn't be too difficult to sell to WBAC at circa £5.5-£6k I think as a stock 4200 removing/replacing the GS bits for Classico top return a combined higher value.

If any forum members have a use or want the car I will offer it at £7.5k to anyone who can move quickly.
