Not that it'll make any difference, mind.

Is the battery actually going flat? I mean we all assumed it, but what's the measured voltage when it's playing up? Resetting the ECU's smells rather like BS to me. If the battery is going flat, then something is draining it. Finding out what is a pretty simple process of (tedious) elimination. Performing 'ECU resets' is unlikely, I'd wager, to be beneficial.

Not the old tracker draining it? Did the newer ones have that fitted?

Hi CatmanV2
They are doing all the resets apparently under instruction from Maserati Italy and have been told to do 3 complete shutdowns of the car with at least 36 hours between shutdown 2 and 3 to test out whether on of the ECU's isnt shutting down properly

I am waiting to hear the outcome of all that today--I have one of their loan cars so hopefully that gives them some sort of incentive to fix it--can anyone tell me how good Autofficina are ???

I thought AGM needed a higher charging voltage from larger alternator and our cars without stop/start would not have had them.

I bought my QP GTS with an AGM battery... and only a few weeks into ownership a series of issues raised their heads, despite the AGM battery itself being fairly new.

I replaced it with the forum recommended Exide battery... and guess what, no problems since!

I think some members have been running AGM batteries fine on their Maseratis, but my QP certainly didn't like it - and I think it's been mentioned a few time on this thread that AGM batteries aren't 'ideal' for non stop-start cars.

As for Autofficina - I've used them a number of times now for servicing, minor jobs and fault diagnosis when I had a dicky fuel filler cap not opening. All positive experiences so far.

£80 is a small price to pay to rule out the biggest culprit, which IIRC is less than AO's hourly labour rate!

Welcome and great to hear that you've had the electrical issues solved reasonably inexpensively.
The only similar problems that I ever had with my own car, which is a fair bit older than yours,
were also electrical. But, after almost having a cardiac 'event' when I first turned the key and the dash
lit up like Oxford St at Christmas, all was solved a short time later by a simple battery swap.
In the three years I've owned mine, I've never had another 'issue'.
If you're hearing a little voice in the back of your head, asking what might go wrong next, ignore it.
IME these cars are remarkably reliable. I've never owned a car which has made me smile more.
Enjoy! :)
