Ahem..I live with two pilots (not in that way) both are under 30, and the way they describe what they do makes you think I could do that, cos the plane does 99% of it.

Was chatting with one of them straight as he'd returned from flying, asked him where he'd flown to that day and he gives into deep think mode, screwed his face up in thought and goes 'I can't remember!'Ahem..
Was he wearing vest, holding a stick and showing a gap toothed grin, while standing next to handsome bigger lady ?Was chatting with one of them straight as he'd returned from flying, asked him where he'd flown to that day and he gives into deep think mode, screwed his face up in thought and goes 'I can't remember!'
Landing and turning around in the dark at an airport guess they all merge to one.
Then he suddenly goes 'Barcelona!!!'
Sure is terrifying. This kind of technology will be with us by 2035, along with energy pulse weapons ( like Star Trek) which will replace conventional weapon systems. Unbelievable stuff coming.
Given the ability of the human race to develop such technology then you would think they could find the answer to global warming by designing CO2 scrubbers which take it out of the atmosphere.
Having been the Supply Chain assessor on the Prince of Wales carrier build programme (in a previous life) I can certainly say that they are not sitting ducks. They are incredibly sophisticated pieces of kit, probably the most advanced carriers in the world ahead of the US Nimitz class carriers, although not quite as big. Which is why the US Navy would like some of their own if they could get them. So with the right fleet support and subs around them, then they should to do a first class job. Let's hope so because they cost enough!I wonder how energy pulse weapon proof our 2 new £3Bn Aircraft carriers are.
Next question, would you fancy a job on the sacrifice ship that no doubt will be sailing around it if we go to war.
It seems like weapons are or will be available to easily sink such a large target.
Like the germans, build the ultimate ship then leave it in port because you're too worried about it getting sunk.

And there's Orwell's Floating Fortresses.....I wonder how energy pulse weapon proof our 2 new £3Bn Aircraft carriers are.

Yeah.. but imagine how many millions of people around the world wouldnt have a job. And also imagine how much new technology developed on the back of these programmes, we wouldnt have.Imagine the world we could live in if the defence budget of every country was zero
Technology isn't the answer to everything , if I could go back to the simplicity of the 1970s and 80s I would, not the clothes thoughYeah.. but imagine how many millions of people around the world wouldnt have a job. Every cloud has a silver lining

Ryanair, not got them yet! Although I'm the only non-pilot, I'm doing some work for Aer Lingus, so I have slight superiority.Computer knows best? ....737 Max
