is that right?, I did the the free tax on one of mine on line recently and there is a box there that you click to say the car has not been substantially altered from original spec and therefore no mot required, does the system not update itself, I do know that the police get somewhat confused when it flags with no mot and the advise is to have a copy of the DVLA signed form in the glovebox should you be pulled by them

Maybe it is me then!
Can't recall ticking any boxes regarding substantially altered, better check on 'free renewal' next month.
This maybe because my last MOT expired after the annual tax renewal in April last year.

Trust me I am not really welcome on each forum ;) Most of the time people delete my posts, due to "advertising" when I am only giving examples and showing what the issue is. I am a regular consumer who was subject to fraud and this is how my site got created to protect others from what happened to me. I did not know the full extent of the issues until I got everything up and running but once the site went live, and some people discovered they have perfectly "clear" cars but still red flagged on my site for being on salvage and damaged, we found many more. Skip until now and press got interested and above article created.

If admins are happy they can contact me and I can give 10% discount code to all members here as well, but I can't post it myself due to forum rules I suspect.

5 posts all from different countries and an google email address with random characters for the prefix. No thanks.

And it starts again...

Everyone trusts HPI and even though AutoExpress explained how many cars are missing from the records they use, still a new company like mine in the market no one believes in what we say...

My company is fully legit. Registered in the UK, payments via Stripe. I pay my taxes and don't take benefits. Check it in Companies House. I worked last night to add Apple Pay/Google Pay for more secure payments to provide better service and people still got doubts about what we do.

I posted from multiple countries as I am on holiday right now travelling across Europe, yet still working and sleeping 4h a day. I also have servers spread across multiple locations and use them all the time. I spent the last 2 years trying to bring the truth out and if somebody doesn't appreciate this, though, I don't give a **** ;)

I cooperate now with car checking companies/apps you use every day and if you got no trust in me you should not trust them either.

You got the news, even The Sun, Financial Times, The Times covered this story. Would you think they all would support "Nigerian Scam"?

I am not British but I feel this country is my home and if you don't accept my help, you will need to live with it as I got MPs involved and at this is going to make a change in the car industry for sure.

Rant ended.

To be fair, there is good cause to be sceptical. Your IP address is bouncing around different countries in a matter of minutes and your email isn’t, to my understanding, ending in @vcheck.uk, but is a google address.

Conaero in particular, takes a great deal of care to make sure that services mentioned are useful and real, after all you haven’t been blocked have you?

If you are uncomfortable with scrutiny to make sure that this is what you say it is, then perhaps this is why you are having some problems.

I was writing PM to admin but you stopped here. I got nothing to hide, I just found it offensive you question me when no other much bigger bodies like newspapers, Police, Trading Standards etc had any concerns.

The reason I need to use multiple locations as nobody wanted for the truth to come out and me being Network Security Engineer I can use my skills to hide where the servers are. We use CloudFlare, Server in US, Germany, UK, Poland and France. If you find this as a problem trust me this is necessary atm as findings by AutoExpress are not really welcome by anyone right now.

I run my own forum and I found it funny all the research you did was checking my IPs. I use Google Mail for the company, Mailgun for sending email, Cloudflare for DDoS protection, what else you need to know? I am fully transparent, not like 100s of traders who sell dodgy cars each day to the general public

Honestly, there are almost 100k cars missing from official databases, we worked hard to bring it to the public and you still got bigger concerns about my company rather than the point of discovery.

Also, I am a member of multiple forums: m3cutters, babybmw, jaguarforum, cliosport, bimmerforums, astonmarin etc. If you feel my presence in other places where I posted thousands of posts is not enough confirmation I am legit please delete my account here.

This appears to be the case.

We were hammered in recent days by traffic just to take us down and I have to work 24/7 instead of enjoying time with my family. If you find Vcheck is a scam, please delete all my posts now, and just await info in national TV, maybe then you will understand. I got nothing else to say. The only place I had worse acceptance was on Audi Forums...

Arnie, don't take it so personally. This forum is 'different'. Matt really does take it extremely seriously to make sure that anyone with a commercial angle (however well intentioned) is dead straight. Most of them are personally known by Matt and / or the forum mods. As well as a significant number of the active members.
That makes it an incredibly valuable resource to both those that frequent the forum for information and services and those that offer commercial backing. It's protected fiercely.
Sometimes (especially on a Saturday night), people can get to the wrong conclusion.

Pretty sure I'm the closest thing to a network security expert on here right now (and in absolute honesty, that's because I have a very good team of very serious, highly paid people to do it for me), so to me, your explanation makes sense, at least from a technical POV.

My advice would be stick around and it'll all work out. Or don't. Assuming you're correct in your analysis, we'll all end up using vcheck anyway, so you're in a no lose situation.

Just went through 12 random CAT declared cars on eBay and all were flagged in this site - so it appears to work in that regard.

Arnie, so why do hpi, AA, etc fail to record the true history or is it because that if a car is repaired their records are wiped clean?

HPI, Experian etc. all use MIAFTR where not all cars are reported to. This is the main issue. Other thing MIAFTR has no timeframes in terms of reporting, cars can even be registered after 2 years or more when in fact they had multiple owners in the meantime and none of them was aware car was written off before. Autoexpress covers it all. It is a flaw in the current system which was abused quite badly.

Just gonna pop in that to the best of my (reasonably extensive) knowledge Experian only collate and extrapolate data from from other sources.

It's entirely possible that Arnie knows more about this than me (at least until Monday morning) ;) but again that Experian use someone else's data strikes me as a pretty accurate summation.

Thanks for taking time Arnie. OK, so if I buy a car, do the HPI check then later find that it was involved in an accident, I'm pretty sure I would be covered by HPI if a mechanic finds evidence of the accident (correct me if I wrong). Would you give similar guarantees?

Experian and HPI and any other car checking site use MIAFTR, AutoExpress confirmed this in their article, and it was the official response from HPI, Experian.

They all say about guarantee but it is all subject to T&Cs. Read them and you will understand they don't actually cover you.
