You can do it on line instantly- I have never worried about the MOT, not sure what the correct procedure is regards the MOT.

On line, almost instantly. New V5 in 4or 5 days last time. Don't think they send out a new mot now. Don't forget to tell the insurance Co about plate change. Some do it for free, others try and charge an admin fee.

Yep; the system is real-time now, you can do all V5 related things online, buying or selling, don't sod about sending the V5 off, do it online whilst exchanging the cash, (it is a check the V5 is real also) then insure it, then tax it and you are good to drive home. Remember to also register or remove from the Dartford crossing etc.

For me it's the M50 and Dublin Port tunnel tagger, my goal is the defraud the the Irish Revenue Commissioners of VRT and Motor Tax, since I'm here nearly a year this contract and I must due a pull. Never been stopped actually in around two years of driving the Maser in the State of a three year period. Apart from some weird under car search on way to ferry on Dollymount Road and a full car search around Sheriff Street - they must have assumed I was either Kinehan or Hutch and cooking to take someone out. Not a date, contract killing.

Yep - bought a plate for my boys 21st in Jan. Swapped online in seconds and DVLA sent new V5 within a week. (Insurance charged him £5.10 admin fee!)

Likewise, I have just renewed my driving licence and that turned up in a few days as well.
