Suspension and ASR lights on, and the car's ZF auto thinks it is a manual one

Hi Folks, I have an odd one. The suspension and ASR lights are on. But the ZF auto box is not changing up when in auto mode, it does change down. I have to flick the gearstick over to manual, then back to auto and then it works as it should. Or, flick the paddle and force it up. Any ideas?
It is a 2008 Granturismo, 4.2 with 29k miles, ZF Auto

Thanks, Safrane. I hope it is battery as it is 6+ yrs old, although it is kept on a CTEK. Hope it isn't an ABS sensor as I had that replaced less than 5k miles ago.
