Supercharging the 4.7 Gran Turismo or MC Stradale

Guys, I contacted Novitec in Germany re their Supercharger conversion and they have ceased offering the kit, presumably as it was extremely expensive@approx £35,000!
My 993RS is supercharged by Ninemeister with a TPS kit, at a fraction of Novitecs cost !
This got me thinking, so I contacted Richard Albans at TTS Performance, and he was helpful.
In short, it is possible, but he would not start building a Rotrex kit unless all the development costs are paid , basically up front.
Richard thinks a fully fitted , remapped kit, would be somewhere around the £11,000-£13,000 mark, but he would need at least 10 people to show interest.
In black and white,to start the ball rolling, we need enough interested members to make the project worthwhile.
Methinks a 600 bhp Gran Turismo would certainly see the ridiculousy cheap selling prices suddenly start escalating ?
And I am certain, given time, at a fair price, a lot of kits would be sold

I do love a Supercharger! It's a shame he requires as many as ten to commit, as I fear it won't get off the ground unless you reach out to many more owners than is on here.
My funds are allocated to home improvements for a year or two, so am unable to commit myself, but would have been tempted otherwise.
It does amaze me, the cost of these conversions, as there is not normally too much to it, especially the centrifugal Chargers. There must be an off the shelf Vortech unit out there that could be squeezed in a space somewhere and have a mounting plate made with a couple of pulleys and a longer belt. ..? I know that's over simplifying it somewhat and you've possibly got fuel system upgrade, injectors, and mapping but struggle to see where 35k price comes from.

Will be interesting to hear how this Remap turns out as well.

Ok, I will give an honest review and see if I can do some timed run before and after with an app, any recommendations? Used to have one called Torque that I seemed to remember did that

Any news on this remap? Sounds really interesting and I would love to know what figures you’ve managed to achieve.

I do love a supercharger and converted both my E39 M5 and a 745i and they both absolutely flew. £35k is a bit of a joke for the amount of work involved but £11k could be a reality. Did the £35k include their wheel and suspension conversion? I did think it was an entire kit?

i know we all have busy lives but is there any chance we could see the result of this review any time soon? I know there would be a bundle of owners that would like to see this engine with 10 - 15% more power/torque?

any information would be welcome please.

I had my GT 4.2 ecu remapped by Shiftech in Paris last Oct. It was run on the dyno before and after and she gained 32 bhp and the torque curve was improved in the lower rev range. They called this their stage 1. Oddly enough they did not recommend their stage 2 as the cost/benefit was not worth it to gain another 20 ish hp.

Attached is the trace from the dyno runs... The torque is noticeable while driving.

Looking at the figures, 32bhp increase at 200rpm up the rev range and 30Nm at a similar rpm isn't going to make a whole lot of difference for a car weighing in at coming up to 2 tonnes.

At the end of the day the dyne readout is just one way of monitoring the difference, if it improves the drive all the better.

I'd say that's a really good result and wheel HP for a 4.2.

I’m potentially interested in the supercharger. But might have to wait until next year as I’m trying to make a real estate investment in the short term. I’m already running an evosmit tune. Feels good but never put it on a dyno. Would it be possible to get the tune and parts and have to find a local installer in the US?

I am asking the group if anyone has experience of a good remap and tune on the 4.7 GranCabrio in the UK? I would be really interested in the reliable power and torque gains from a remap and if it is going to bugger the gearbox through doing it? Any info would be welcome.

DMS in Southampton have done a few Maserati although not everyone on here were not happy.
I had my 2002 4200 done and was very pleased.

Yes DMS waste of money. Sportsitalia collaborating with AV engineering have developed a true map with proper gains.

do you have an idea of price? BHP and lb/ft gains? Have you had it done to any of your cars? Any info welcome. Thanks
