Im due to get the car treated with Dinitrol. The guy is a specialist if this product but not of anything else beyond flatbeds etc.

Is there anything or area I should be directing his attention to? Ideally without removing anything except wheels and arch liners. Any parts to avoud e.g suspension, brakes, exhaust

Took collection of the GTS today. Received full dinitrol treatment inc cavity waxes etc, wheel liners and the obvs subframes.

Overall car actually is rather good condition before hand but all like new now! I even had a few drainage holes made in subframes.

Pictures next week

Ok so here are some pics, overall Im very happy with the work and quality of it.

There was a lot of prep before works started. Works included aspects you cannot see such as cavity waxing etc. The driver's side subframe (triangle section) was rotten a bit, so they cut the section out and welded a new bit. Overall, condition was actually very good for the age but check those subframes folks. The GTS ought to be dandy for some years to come.

PS. I see a bit of a leak from the oil sump, not sure why when It was serviced by MD only few weeks ago. Any suggestions here? It is worthy of going back to the dealer to correct FOC?

More...subframes were coated too with holes drilled after the weld. No pictures of the finished product but I just checked in garage.

Money well spent! Shocking as you say. 95% of the car was grand but those subframes and anti-roll bars just degrade so quickly. Oddly the passenger side subframe was in great condition.

Looking great, very nice work.

As for the oil, it might be an area they didn’t clean rather than a leak but while they might not have spotted it / told you about it, I doubt that will translate into fixing it for free!

Looks really good well worth getting that done. From my experience all cars hit a point around 10-12 years where something starts to suffer corrosion gotta, just keep on top of it.

that is good work and good to see they spent the time to properly mask everything, i'm of a mind to actually get any future brand new motors underside components treated straight away, why wait until there is surface rusting, might get the wife's e pace treated with bilt hamber ub anti corrosion wax

That “leak” is right below the oil filter, they’ve probably not cleaned it properly if nothing is on the drive.

Good work Chris. Are the pic all after the work was done? One image 123558346_680309386253680_4441552897127164152_n.jpg looks a bit crusty around the imperative wishbone mount flange. Might just be too tricky to do with the subframe installed.

Mixture of before and afters. Thanks. Can you circle where you mean please

Chris

The bit I was looking at it less worrying - the rear subframe wishbone mount points. Much easier to see and therefore work on those bits.
