After a lot of deliberation I have decided to sell my 2009 QP 4.7 S after only 2.5 years. I took early retirement just over a month ago, after 36 years of hard graft and concluded that I couldn't really justify the ongoing up keep of such a wonderful machine. So sadly I have decided to offer it up for sale. Its a beautiful black metallic colour ( Nero Carbonio) against a contrasting beige leather interior (Avorio), with 49,880 miles on the clock, but with a difference; the previous owner spent over £5000 fitting new camshaft variators (x2), timing chain tensioner, front shock absorber suspension bushes, parking sensor ECU etc.. etc.. and decided to put a new GTS grill and new 20" Alloy wheels and tyres on to the car, so its looks a real stunner now. I have replaced the battery and one of the ABS sensors and had the car fully detailed with Ceramic Pro 9h ( by a professional Ceramic Pro dealer) , which took a week to do. This week it has also just had a major service at 'Bowker Ribble Valley' and an MoT, which expires 26th May 2020. As a result I have put the QP up for sale at around £22,950 which might be a bit top end but its to reflect the amount of work done on it over the last 3 years. So its a real 'minter' now. So if you know anyone who might be interested then please let me know. I am exhibiting it at the upcoming ESPCC car show at the Westmoreland showground, Kendal, on the 19th May.

Now that's a stunning Exige in one of the best colours as well. Bet it's fun.....What track is that...It looks familiar?

By the way that's a very pretty QP....And with the GTS grill it looks even better. Good luck with the sale.

This is my old car. I spent a fortune on it before deciding to buy a Granturismo MC Shift. I can vouch for it being in fantastic condition when I sold and it sounds like more money has been lavished on it since.

Many thanks for the feedback! It has been a fantastic car and I've loved every minute of owning it. I will be sad to see it go because I've wanted one of these all my life but sadly circumstances change so I have to think with my head now rather than my heart. Someone will be getting a cracking car.

Not to detract from the thread but buying a car with an extensive invoice history isn't always a good thing! I have bought some some examples where works has been done and the cars have went onto never needing anything after that. By comparison some cars have been money boxes with stuff going wrong all the time. Granted things like the variatiors on these are an important consideration.

I think the point being made is that having already fixed a lot of common issues which go wrong or wear out on the QP's, in theory they shouldn't go wrong again or at least not for a long time. So there is less to go wrong in this case but that isn't to say that something else couldnt go wrong in the future. But unless you replace every component on the car then you can never be sure. All you can do is help to mitigate the risk which the previous owner and I have done over the last 3 years.

The variators where the main expense (a one off upgrade to the later variators at a cost of £3,500). The genuine GTS grill and wheels which were cosmetic. The suspension bushes go QPs on the front arms at relatively low mileage anyway. Its a nice car.

It's a stunning car and whoever eventually decides to buy it will be getting a real beauty which has been looked after like a baby.
