Stuff you've found on TV worth watching

Not on TV, but I've just bought the dvd of the old 'Hammer House Of Horror' series, looking forward to watching it. Also currently dipping into the occasionally silly but still enjoyable New Avengers (on freeview) and Return Of The Saint (on dvd), both are a bit patchy but the good bits outweigh the bad, particularly the guest actors, the cars and the incidental music by Laurie Johnson...

The last batch of New Avengers episodes are very hit and miss as the production team ran out of money and had to make a deal with a French / Canadian TV company. Brian Clemens was also trying to get started on The Professionals at the same time which caused no end of delays and the woeful reliability of the cars provided by BL for both series made things even worse. A week into shooting The Professionals it was decided that casting Anthony Andrews as Bodie wasn't working out, so they gave the part to Lewis Collins and had to reshoot half of the first episode all over again, putting them even more behind schedule.
