Part of our family tradition is the boys having Christmas Eve boxes. Usually posh hot chocolate, some popcorn and a couple of movies. Zoe has brilliantly slipped in Carlito’s Way this year. (No way I’d have made it through Spies in disguise). I cannot believe I’ve never seen it before. The soundtrack is awesome, the direction Hitchcockesque and both Sean Penn and Pacino show their class. It has jumped into my top ten movies.

The Last Right on Amazon Prime. Beautiful 2019 Irish movie - laugh out loud moments, serious subjects, top drawer acting and a cracking yarn. A proper hidden gem.

Watching this now - like it - spotted Naimh Algar from Shane Meadows' 'The Virtues' and Ralph from 'Ladhood', playing the American's Irish brother - Yorkshire born and bred!

A nice little 'feel good' film and believe me we need a laugh right now is an Italian film based on a true story. Rose Island on Netflix.
I kept this quiet but I make an appearance just over the hour mark. 1:05-1:07 to be precise.

I may well be the only one who didn't watch this when it was on TV - but we've just got into Shameless - there are 11 series of it on Netflix, so no adverts.

It's brilliant - such a welcome diversion from current times.
