Found footage - very rare - New Order as a three-piece 4 months after being Joy Division and after Curtis' suicide....

It's raw, not great but 3 Mancs in NY in their twenties and dealing with and starting again. OK it'd not WW2 or anything but.....

Enjoyed that, can't believe it's forty years since Ian Curtis died..... same goes for Peter Sellers and Steve McQueen.

Very raw! love it. Interesting how Barney is singing like Ian, clearly hasn't 'found' his voice yet. All three of them will be 64 this year too...

Also Hooky assured me that neither he or Barney can sing AND play at the same time, but here they are both doing it!

Steve Morris aka 'Shakin' Steve as he's so nervous, is singing the first verse too in a very Curtis-like baritone and you can literally see the fear in his eyes! He was once arrested as he was suspected of being the Yorkshire Ripper, all of them questioned as their tour van was seen in Leeds, Bradford, Hudds etc at the time and Steve being so nervous when questioned the bobbies arrested him lol!

The Daniel Morgan case - Murder In The Car Park is worth a watch. Depressing, but worth watching.

And I know it’s a film, but Rope might be able to download from TCM on Sky

Great documentary on Rockfield recording studio on the weekend. First residential recording studio in the world. Some great stories, and a bit Spinal Tap..The story of how two farmers build up the reputation of the studio. Remember going out in Monmouth and seeing artists in the pubs.....Met Robert Plant, Liam Galliger who used to in the local all the time....T'Pau once and the Darkness..Great days....

My brother bought one of their old mixing desks from one of the studios though to be honest we don't think is it from there. It's and Amek and they used Neve and MCI.

Yes, never realised he died in Rockfield. Sad story...I know the 60's and 70's wer very drug related but the 90's bands seemed to be just as bad if not worse..

And, what's going on its that Charlatans singers hair.....Does he really get up, look in the mirror and go...Yep that's the style for me...

One Way To Denmark, Rafe Spall, rapidly becoming a great actor. Good, slow paced, angst film. Liked it.

Was it the keyboard player from the Charlatans that was the bank robbery getaway driver ?
You're right. Rob Collins ...not your typical North Country Boy. He died three years later in a car accident, spookily exactly 24 years ago TODAY. No seat belt and alcohol in his system
