Stradale - X-Pipe or not

Managed to hook up with Stuart today to compare our cars, his fitted with the Larini X Pipe and mine OEM. Apologies for the very poor camera work......

The X-pipe is defiantly louder on startup and in Race mode and has more of a Rasp to the sound, also sounds more 'open'. In sport mode it was not noticeably any louder when driving than OEM.

In summary a worthwhile mod if you can live with the extra volume on startup.....

A nice comparison. I'll probably be in the minority, but I prefer the OEM it sounds deeper.

Good to meet you David, your car is a delight and I do like that special order paint

And those two cars do like great next to each other I have to say!

One thing to add about the comparative sounds is that they sound very different again under load. And the good thing about a modification like an X-pipe is that it is very easily reversible being simply bolt on, bolt off if the noise is something that you can not live with

Oem is deeper by a whisker whereas the x-pipe is 'louder' by a few whiskers.

Each to their own!

That's why the H pipe is a better sound than the X pipe. More like standard but even deeper!

I don't think you can listen and compare with them not under load

X pipe will sound better under load, I would guess the stradale is similar in the fact the original exhaust has a x pipe already so you are essentially just removing a silencer, which will keep the same tone just make it louder, you won't be able to tell by revving in neutral

Agreed Beau, the Stradale OEM centre section is the same part as the GTS MC-S. Under load is where the difference comes into it's own but for me, the H sounds more burbley like a US muscle car whereas the X sounds a little more racy which is what I prefer.
It's not a case of one being a better sound than the other, it's just what is to your taste

Like you guys told me a must have addition! It just unlocks the highly strung Italian v8 noise more and adds the crackles etc.
There were people filming me in town as I was going through, everyone crooking their necks to see what the **** is coming down the road! Thumbs up left right and centre, what a car!!!!
