Stradale service

A lot of people buy annual services thinking they are getting a 2 year or 6 year service so I don't always believe prices people pay. Douglas will sort you out Athol and I am sure will lose £200/300 from the quote.

I had a 2 year service done on my GT/s recently at JCT600 Leeds. I first called an indy and got a price of £450 + VAT and then called JCT to see what they'd do. It suddenly went from £1400 inc. VAT to £750 + VAT=£900.

I'd call the MD and ask them for their best price, say the car will be 5/6 years old when the service is due and your in two minds between MD and indy and I bet they give you a better price. Worth a go for the cost of a call.

Totally agree. I had the same experience at Graypaul. You should get it down to around £1,000 inc VAT.

I got my 6 year service done at the MD as I will probably change the car in the next 2 years so it'll still have full MD service history when I trade in. I will get consumables (tyres, brakes, etc) and non-service work done at an indy if required.

You think? How much should a 2 year service cost then? Car is only on 9300 miles now, likely to be around 11,000 by then. I can argue to reduce the air filter cost as I have a BMC filter and I could easily supply oil at £50 from Opie.

Other service threads exist between here and page 3 ;)

As noted, 1k or under is your target, potentially supplying your own oil. I can't see the Strad being any different to a standard car - no reason it should be.

Here you go Athol, maybe the extra gearbox/diff oil change spikes things up? From what I have read here, that oil change fill cycle needs to be managed by the SD2/3 computer? Do all F1 gearboxes require such frequent oil changes or just the Stradale?

This is from my stradale manual:
