It is certainly going up!

It certainly is. I hadn't realised the level of VAT and fees (VAT on hammer price @20%, Buyers Premium @7%, VAT on the Buyers Premium, Transfer fee £80) that go with such a purchase.
Means a winning bid of £3k would be ~£4k in cash/reality, £3.5k is ~£4.5k, £5k would be ~£6.5k.

don't understand why folk buy plates and then jam it together to try and make a word, why not just buy a proper private plate with your initials, something like 2 numbers and 2/3 letters would be far better on a nice motor and classy

My first car was GXI 3738, I considered changing my name to Giles Xavier Irving but this was 80's Bolton, suicide.....

It was, 1975 Cadillac Fleetwood, 8.2 litre! Was was I thinking?, was imported by GM, originally N295 HLN I thing, with I'd had kept it but it rusted away before my very eyes.......

agreed, what were you thinking ;), i think i'm right in saying all those type of plates, 3 letters followed by 4 numbers are just irish plates, cheap as chips and do look naff

NI to be exact, in the South they are YY-County-Random_Number - my QP was 06-WD-3 cos the guy who owned it was head honcho at Three Ireland.

Mines got random KXZ 4221 on it now but I have S555 SVK waiting. Quite like the NI plate tho...
